Bruce Confirms Five Out And Two Late Fitness Tests

The heavy fixture schedule has definitely taken its toll on Newcastle. Steve Bruce has confirmed that five players will miss tomorrow’s match adding Ciaran Clark and Ki Sung-Yueng to the three already ruled out.

More concerning is that both Jonjo Shelvey and Miguel Almiron are facing late fitness test. So we could be missing four players from last week’s win in Allan Saint-Maximin, Ciaran Clark, Jonjo Shelvey, and Miguel Almiron.

Bruce again expressed some regret about Saint-Maximin’s injury, who could miss the next seven matches with his hamstring. He seems to feel a bit remorseful for leaving him on the entire game against Southampton.

It looks like Shelvey is suffering from a sore calf and Miguel Almiron has a tight hamstring.

If both Shelvey and Almiron cannot make it, Bruce could be forced into making some drastic changes to the set-up. While Shelvey can be replaced by Sean Longstaff, we don’t have much cover on the right-wing.

We really hope the Paraguayan can make it. Then again, since it’s his hamstring it may be best not to risk it.

What Will Be The Result In Saturday's Match At Burnley?

  • Win (43%, 716 )
  • Draw (34%, 563 )
  • Loss (23%, 391 )

    I understand Bruce’s remorse over ASM’s hamstring
but surely modern athletes should have the wit to
nurse their bodies towards the end of a game and not
behave like a cocker spaniel chasing a spuggy in the
    closing minutes of a game

im just very happy that most people are normal thinking people.

no place in society for racism. Liebour is not in line with kick racism out of football, or racism in general.

    Jib

People do their hamstrings sitting on a sofa bending the wrong way, is it possible to nurse a hamstring during a game?

Hope injuries are not gonna be the excuse for a bad run of results.
We needed to strengthen the squad in most positions apart from Central defence.
Not much strength in depth really,it should,ve been sorted last summer but oh we were to busy getting in our new coach,Cabbage heed.
When will they ever learn the lessons,or do they want to learn how to run a Premier League club?
