Newcastle Win Race For Promising Youngster – Report

According to the Sun, Newcastle have won the race to sign Queens Park youngster Reagan Thomson.

They report that an agreement has been reached for the 16-year-old between Newcastle and the Scottish League Two club. They have beaten Steven Gerrard’s Rangers to land the very promising Scotland U17 international.

Just last week, it was reported that both Newcastle and Rangers had bids rejected for the young midfielder. According to the Sun, Newcastle’s initial bid of £35k has been increased and accepted.

Queens Park is an amateur club and are due to turn professional. They had hoped to be able to hold on to Thomson. But it appears that Newcastle will land the midfielder for a moderate compensation fee.

This is excellent news as Thomson will join some other young midfielders with promising futures like Joe White and Lee Clark’s son Bobby.

Despite turning 16 just this past August, Thomson has made 9 appearances for Queens Park this season. Hopefully, he is the first in a procession of youngsters to join Newcastle as we begin to improve our Academy.

I have a theory about the Joelinton dosh
I read about 5 years ago that NUFC had a Euro account
that the money for Cabaye , Santon , Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa
etc.was paid into when the pound was much stronger.

Ashley thinking he’s such a smart operator probably thought
this summer was the time to blow it before Br@@it made the pound
    strong again.

Hibbit went all the way to burnley, why would he want us to fail?

You defend Ashley ad nauseum on a daily basis over every single thing. Could you perhaps not consider changing your record

    The next Mike Williamson
the club aren’t handing free season tickets to just anybody they have to be guaranteed by a season ticket holder,
the people who should be getting these free tickets are not even being considered,

“the 40mill mentioned has come from ashley”

wasn’t it Rafa who said that Ashley told him he wanted to pay £40m. doesn’t mean he actually did.
