What Will Be The Result Of Saturday’s Match Against Crystal Palace?

It’s another big match for Newcastle as Crystal Palace travel north to St James Park on Saturday. It’ll be a battle between two teams currently mid-table.

We’ll look to get back on track after the loss at Burnley last weekend while our visitors will try to continue their unbeaten ways. The Eagles haven’t lost in four matches, taking 8 points out of a possible 12.

Both teams have significant injury concerns with Newcastle sweating on the fitness of Miguel Almiron, Ciaran Clark, and Jonjo Shelvey. Crystal Palace will be without a few key players like Jeffrey Schlupp, Gary Cahill, and former Magpie Andros Townsend.

A lot will depend on how Thursday’s training session goes with Jonjo Shelvey and Miguel Almiron set to take part. If they cannot go, we’ll likely see something similar set-up wise to what we saw at Burnley. Hopefully, the home crowd can spur the lads on to a better display.

We don’t think Bruce will mess around too much with the formation from the start. He’s likely to remain with the 5-4-1 with Andy Carroll spearheading the attack. If that’s the case, it will be Andy’s first time starting consecutive games this season.

The loss last weekend didn’t affect our league position too much. We are still in 11th just 4 points behind Tottenham in 5th. Crystal Palace are now in the 9th spot but only one point ahead of us.

This is another chance to jump into the top half of the table and get back to winning ways. We think the lads can do just that despite the injury concerns.

    Jib @27

    It feels different

You said that with Stavley Kenyon and BZG..

You going to say it after every whisper and rumour?

Then claim you were smart enough to spot it before anyone else..

    😉

Martoon @28 – not true as they have the 10,000 free tickets to actually sell next season along with season ticket holders who will not renew next season

Mindshaft – I accept that but that still leaves, say, about 30000 – 35000 ST holders of which I would guess about 25000 will be on the DD scheme so that’s about 50% of the ground to be persuaded to renew their ST – a reasonable amount would you not agree?

Agreed – although I guess they will be due for renewal next season so given that we are relatively safe at the moment I can’t see us going out and spending a large amount of money in Jan

    I’m not bitter
I’m overjoyed at the thought of all that money Jabba has bled from us
At all of those shops we bought him

I hope he ends us as a club just to squeeze out every last penny and out of pure spite

    I’m lovin it.

call yourself a NEWCASTLE FAN …

Mindshaft – As I say on DD your first payment for next season starts 1st April and it takes them a month to sort out admin so if you want to cancel you have to inform them by about the end of February. Last year we had just beaten Man City, signed Miggy and it looked like Rafa was staying so it was quite an easy decision – this year however…………!
