Report – Key Player To Return For Trip To Manchester United

There is a report in the Shields Gazette that confirms Jetro Willems is suffering from a groin injury that forced him to miss out on the win over Crystal Palace.

However, the good news is that he is expected to be back for Thursday’s match at Manchester United. Jetro was a big miss on Saturday as Paul Dummett had to be moved further up the pitch as an outlet on the left.

It was a game that had Jetro’s name written all over it, and we don’t think we would have struggled half as much if Willems was in the team.

Dummett gave his all and was excellent defensively, as you’d expect. However, he went down with a reported groin problem late in the game and had to be replaced by DeAndre Yedlin.

Hopefully, Paul will also be back for Thursday or at least Saturday’s match against Everton. We are suddenly very short on defenders even with so many in the ranks.

A return for Jetro will be a big boost for Steve Bruce in a match that we can definitely get something out of. His absence on Saturday showed how much the Dutchman means to this team.

Munster there used to be a site called football origin that showed the full 90 mins of games (think they went up about 4-5 hrs after).

Dummett is a decent defender, but Jetro is far better in forward positions.

Giving away those season tickets to fill the ground
That’s going to fix the reason the seats are in sold ?

It’s a downward spiral no amount of PR will ever fix

Shame Saint Max is as i see Man Utd pushing hard for an early goal and Max would of been great for the counter tomorrow..not a clue how it will go, we could snatch a win or just as easily be beaten 3-0

Munster thanks for explaining how you still are deliberately getting it wrong.

I don’t “hate” Bruce per se, I see him as the expedient low level rubbish we have been presented with that is not designed to win us anything. That’s why I say he needs to win something to prove it wrong. The avatar is not mackem advertising it is irony that alludes to the time he happily managed gem but turned us down in days when he thought he was too good. The whole package is mike’s substandard offering and the grisly football is disguised by muddling through atrocious wins that at some point needs to drastically change or will be found out. Sorry you find this explanation long winded and bug words are hard for you but that’s the accurate truth.

I ignore geordietom by and large now and at least don’t heckle him as you say, so let that go.

What is true, and not your story, is I am always optimistic if realistic about the team and it’s chances, I support it but not the owner or his underling goons. You won’t get me onside with that no matter how much barracking or deliberate misrepresentation you keep dribbling out or the attempted alliances with other lying oafs to try and give your opinions credibility.

Tsunki munsters point on what it would take to support Bruce is valid. Saying it would take a trophy is laughable given the club has a disgrace of an owner.

Man Utd blow hot and cold I think they’ve struggled with dogged defensive shapes for some time, and I think they might be wary of being raided. I expect them to be a bit cagey but this could easily be another one goal bludgeoning win for us.

It seems to be going quite well
    from the FT
“Mike Ashley’s Sports Direct leapt 31%, its biggest ever one-day gain, after the retailer, which will change its name to Frasers Group, forecast core earnings growth of as much as 15% this financial year .”

Nufc-83 you don’t understand either then. Fair enough.

What I mean by he has to win something is that is the only proof there is a will to do so. If he just goes out in the rounds of each cup and lands us around mid table, what kind of manager is he? I’ll tell you what kind. A coach. A workaday jobbing coach. All he has to do is prove that wrong.

If you think mid table premier League survival is the ethos required of a competitive sports institution in the most competitive league in the world (possibly) then to what end do you urge this team on? What purpose is it serving the fans? A day out, the chance to dress the same? Be grateful en masse to see a 50/50 win ratio indefinitely? What are we getting for our loyalty?

In our current state the only way is to build slowly and with some luck and astute purchases you can climb the table and start competing at a higher level. This is what most fans want from Bruce and that is all most fans wanted (and had confidence) Rafa would do.

So Manquillo, worth a new contract or not? I say yes

RWB is definitely his best position and as it stands he is our best RWB/RB.

But is the improved form simply him playing for a new deal or is he finally playing in his preferred position and fulfilling some of that potential he promised, bit of both I would guess.
