Jetro Willems And The Longstaff Brothers Start At Manchester United

This is the team that Steve Bruce has chosen to take on Manchester United. It is a Christmas miracle as we got the team selection right for once. 🙂

As we had all been hoping, Jetro Willems is back in the team. Florian Lejeune gets his second straight start, but Bruce had limited options with the other three center-backs out injured.

The big surprise is that the Longstaff brothers get the nod in midfield for Isaac Hayden and Jonjo Shelvey. Though we had a feeling he would do just that.

It looks like the same formation as last weekend against Crystal Palace. However, it’s Joelinton and Dwight Gayle as the front two with Dwight getting his first start of the season.

This is who Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has selected to face the Magpies. Paul Pogba just makes the bench, which is a welcome surprise.

This is a chance for Newcastle to continue their march up the Premier League table. With a win, we can leap Manchester United and get closer to a coveted top five place. But that may be putting the cart before the horse.

However, this is certainly a game we can get something from if the lads put in a performance. It won’t be easy as Man U will want to atone for the loss at Watford last weekend. But we’ve beaten them once already, and Bruce will have the team believing they can do it once again.

Howay The Lads!

I still must be the only person who has no idea how others saw that we played a 5-2-1-2 against palace. Joel and Miggy were wide most of the match

Anyway, will probably be a tough day. Sure hope the Longstaff brothers can give some talent to go with their effort today.

Woah, Gayle starting and hoping the super Longstaff brothers can star again.

Half an eye on the Everton match.

A lot of interesting scorelines currently. At present we’ll still start the match 9th but with things tightening up.

    A win and we’re 4pts off 4th!

I can entirely understand the line up as we have another game in less than 48 hours
To be honest does my head in having all these games quarter of the season in just over a month plus the cup tie.
Pity players don’t strike to try and get the Premiership to sort out the fixture programme. Plus I think we have played only 4 home games out of twenty something on Boxing Day

West Ham in big trouble think.

Poorest tam we’ve played this season. Gutless. Now 1pt above drop zone. Halfway stage and they haven’t played Liverpool even once yet too.

Howay, what an incentive to win, 4pts off Champions League at the halfway stage if we do.

Hope the manager’s trust in his players to give them the day off yesterday is repaid by them, not go the other way and have us come out sleepy.

Not a bad team at all. Think we’ll see Joelinton push out to the left hand side. I’m going for a 5-1 win. We have better players and it will show today. Our defence is magnificent.

Don’t think he will be. I imagine even the ruthless Abrahmovic wasn’t expecting top 4 this season, still well above where most expected them to be. I thought they’d struggle for top 6.
