Report – Newcastle In Talks For Scotland U21 International

Football Insider are reporting that Newcastle are in talks to sign Scotland Under 21 international Lewis Smith.

The 19-year-old is a versatile attacker who currently plays in the Scottish Premiership for Hamilton. Smith has broken into the Hamilton first-team this season making 21 appearances with 4 goals and 3 assists.

The youngster made his debut last October as a second-half substitute in a 3-0 defeat to Aberdeen. He can play on either wing or as an attacking midfielder.

One potential issue is that Smith had just signed a new contract through 2022.

If we do bring in Lewis Smith next month, he could be the second Scottish youngster to join the club. Newcastle are reported to have won the race for Queens Park 16-year-old Reagan Thomson.

We would love to see Newcastle add some prospects to the Academy next month. It’s something the club should make a priority each window. Thomson and Smith would be an excellent start.

What Will Be The Result Against Leicester City On New Year's Day?

  • Loss (71%, 1,193 )
  • Win (16%, 264 )
  • Draw (13%, 223 )

Smith is the number 28 scoring the goal in the first minute
    He’s mainly an attacking midfielder

Bryan makes some good and fair points in his post earlier about the club, Ashley, Joel, sir Bobby, rafa, Steve Bruce, asking all of us to stop moaning. Hibbitt gets 7 stars for his trite reply about Bryan fiddling as Rome burns. Says a lot about some of the contributors here.

    JazzyP,
It’s funny you should say that about the crowds. I was collecting for the food bank with the bairns on Saturday and there were scores of Dutch lads in big groups. I’ve always thought they just came over and bought random tickets. But I’ve suspected for a while now that DFDS are being offered hugely discounted tickets to give away as a promotion to encourage groups of lads to book the mini cruise. I think Saturday pretty much confirmed that, those Everton tickets weren’t for public sale or to members only, so how did a few hundred Dutch lads get their hands on them?

    Munster,
Will you be travelling the length of Oirland on your unicycle to shake Brucie’s giant, meaty masculine hand when the team visit Merton next summer.

    No Tsunki,
Pure coincidental our absence, I just needed to take a break and watch Munster’s bollorx about being vindicated and opprobrium from afar.

Despite all pleadings to just quit with the pointless mentioning of Rafa, he continues unabated. We know this is to paint over history with his tarry brush and do some neat cutting in with the gloss on Bruces edges.

Munster: “Hello, yes I’ve got a query about my phone bill, there are a couple of premium rate numbers on there I don’t remember calling, I asked about this earlier…”

BT operative: ” Ah yes Mr Munster, It seems someone in your household with tiny hands must have been secretly calling them so I’m afraid they are to pay for”

    Munster: “AAArrghh typical Benitezzzzzz…..!!!”

It’s been like this for many year now bud.The atmosphere in the ground are more like pre season friendlies now with many waves of silence.
The odd desperate fan tries to play the “all is well card” but 99% have seen through the shenanigans now

Welcome back Jail I see your time on Twitter hasn’t developed you much. Hopefully a few more defeats now in addition to the last two and you can increase your self righteousness indignation levels. You’ll be glad to know that when SB got a few (somewhat lucky) results and the bloggers started to see that he is doing his best etc, and better than we guessed, Tarquin kept his red and white avatar bumping out the bile for you in your absence. Sadly he isn’t as subtle as you and takes an eternity to get to the point, and as such bores the bejunipers out of us.

I see what Bryan is saying – it has all the misunderstandings in there generated by certain posters who want to get at others by means of false accusation and inflammatory ridiculing.

The blog is not hounded by non-fans who would rather see us relegated than support the team. That’s just a lie, flat out. So is the idea that if you can’t get behind Bruce you are not behind the team. The problem, Bryan, is that Bruce is the product of Ashleys disdain for the Club, its players and its fans. There is no hate for Bruce, he is what he is, a substandard coach who has been riding his luck and the previous incumbents legacy. His form shows that it will in time run out and we as fans aren’t looking forward to it, nor are we covering our eyes and ears and shouting loudly to ignore it so it will go away by itself.

Lest we forget, We had a good manager, a team progressing to the point that it became dangerously competitive and the demand for support meant the breaking of the dam for Mike Ashley. So he let the managers contract run out, stalled him and at the same time allowed another completely bogus Takeover saga distract us while he watched the manager pack his stuff into the boot of his car, and phoned up a championship coach to take his spot.

Now we are enduring months of propaganda that says the previous managers time was less than special, that the guy coaching now is a genius with a better record than him, that the football is better, good times are coming. The only ones “moaning” are the ones pointing out to the blindfolded masses that they are walking into a big hole.

A vindication for giving a guy a chance I would say Jail, little more. I don’t expect a good second half to the season but did about the same, or better, than your manlove did last year. Sadly he won’t have miggy perez and rondon to work with, so the comparison isnt entirely accurate. It must have irritated you a lot to read and hear journalists and commentators saying he was doing a better job though?? And Tarquin, I didn’t start the rafa discussion today, and rarely do. Mind you, accuracy was never your preserve. Once we lose some more you’ll feel better lad, fret not.

And hes off again flying out the traps ha ha. Munster just yesterday you were ribbing Online Guy about his takeover gullibility you rank hypocrite! Go back to June this year you were rounding on me for backing up Toon22’s takeover scepticism. You backed up the likes of Jib, (who was inventing companies, filed accounts and sightings of random Arab guys) Robleenio (irrepressable, indignant and totally unfounded optimism and OG (dodgy rumour mill) and posting phrases to the effect I would have to come crawling back begging forgiveness and apologising to everyone when the takeover inevitably happened! You were well on board but the problem is it suited you to get a dig at your enemies so you forgot all that didnt you?

1/ When he was something, we werent good enough, he chose the mackems. Thats him smiling there.

2/ When he wasn’t good enough he ditched yet another champo outfit and grasped this gig at any cost, that being “do as you are told”.

3/ He is Ashleys middle finger to you, me, all of us.

    4/ I’ve schooled you again

A word of advice, use any of the first 3, the last one screams that you haven’t 😉

West Ham sign up Moyes for all of 18 months which probably coincides with the time Rafa’s contract in China finishes .
Nice to know you’re first choice.
By then Moyes will either have them in Europe so no need for Rafa or they’ll be playing the Mackems in Division One and Rafa won’t take that on.
    More likely the latter.

It’s clearly Tsunki that needs lavatorial assistance

    Report:-

Newcastle in talks with Twinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa Laa and Po.

Well let’s face it we’ve got as much chance of signing them than we have this guy. Don’t get me started on on Everton etc.

Until the owner is removed we have nothing, we have a shell of a club. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll always support the team on the pitch, but come on man, who can, in their right mind, support ashLIE and Penfold – and I’m sure Jib (who is so obviously a Bishop mole it’s untrue, has been found out many times), can disagree and wax lyrical (wasn’t that a candle shop), but the point is, ashLIE is using us, he doesn’t even see us as customers any more (he gives things away), he sees us as cannon fodder, something to be wasted, spat on, squashed underfoot as long as his group gets the worldwide advertising he wants – cos let’s face it, people in China or America where he wants to expand his brand (being the only reason he bought us), don’t know him from Adam.
