Lejeune, Manquillo, And Muto All Start Against The Foxes

This is the team Bruce has selected for the match today against Leicester City. As usual, we were way off in our prediction. To think we had Kelland Watts in the starting eleven, and he hasn’t even made the squad.

It’s just two changes from Everton with the surprise selection of Yoshinori Muto, who comes in for Andy Carroll. Javier Manquillo resumes his role at right wing-back.

Bruce is going to go with Florian Lejeune in the back three after his struggles this past weekend. Joelinton and Fabian Schar also shake off knocks to keep their place.

This is the starting eleven that Brendan Rodgers has decided on. It’s the third start for former Magpie Ayoze Perez against us. But there’s no Jamie Vardy to be found, which is good news.

The Foxes sit in second place in the Premier League while Newcastle are in 11th. A loss today could really see us tumble down the table, but it is what it is.

A good performance is expected, especially taking into consideration what happened in the away fixture earlier this year. Hopefully, we’ll get a pleasant surprise, and the lads can start 2020 on the right foot.

Howay The Lads!

Haven’t seen a more dreadful home game in my life..and I’m in my mid 30’s..If this is the level of motivation the players have Steve Bruce needs to be sacked in the tunnel.

    Players don’t fancy it.
Expect the treatment room to be a hive of activity over the coming weeks.

i dont understand what bruce was thinking. lejeune looked off pace in the previous two games and he’s started him again.

just switch to two CB’s if you dont have 3 decent ones.

Bruce is too scared to switch things..its clear

Below average manager, average players and the lack of a clear plan(other than sit back and hoof it) is very uninspiring!

Rotonda Rafa player a very similar style to what we are now we just looked defensively more solid.

As for Leicester they have been playing great football for a good while now which is why they won the league. They still use vardy on the counter a lot which is pre Rodgers. Playing us who don’t press teams is not a good yardstick for the oppposition style either lol.

More inexplicable individual mistakes from defenders making a match we were well in, fairly comfortable and growing into, just go up in a puff of smoke within a few minutes. This time a double Lejeune blunder. He is finished – looked as bad as Boumsong at his worst since his return.

Seriously, get away from this back 5. It’s not working without actual defenders, leaders and organisers in it. That formation is supposed to be about limiting chances and soaking up pressure, well we’ve made more chances for the opposition than they have themselves crafted in the past 3.

    Dire stuff.

It’s quite obvious why Leicester are where they are in the league.

    A very composed skillful team.

    We look ragged.

More defensive mistakes and I thought our strength was our centre backs.

Well, it’s been a while, but I have to drop in and post this. I’m glad Perez has scored against us. The fans who gave him sh1te and made stupid excuses when he did well for us deserve it. I hope he gets a hat trick like he did v Southampton for us. We are terrible and up until now we have been lucky under Bruce. We suck, and he sucks, and we are going down. But…. At least we don’t have Rafa, eh. What a relief.

We must be the easiest team in the league to beat in situations like this, we just give up and look like we just want the final whistle while playing at a friendly tempo, if we was 2-0 up we would put everyone behind the ball and sit in our half and give the opposition no choice but to have attack after attack

joelinton may look crap today, but its a tough task with this system. The system makes decent players (like perez) look like crap because there’s less space. Put perez in a leceister side and he looks really good.

this system gives offensive players fewer options and less space.

Sell Schar, bin Lejeune – buy Bowen and Morelos, go 4-2-3-1 with LAscelles Clark as CBS and Fernandez Dummett as their backups.

    ASAP.

Jibs footballing knowledge is shit, all this dickhead knows is to insult people on this blog and talk down his nose 2 fellow bloggers, any1 who thought 30m for perez was good business when we didnt replace him with a proven scorer is nuts, we never replaced either goal scorer from last season, wel c come april just how good rafa was, yes he had his fault but made cheap players in2 a solid unit that wer very hard 2 beat, dummet is 1 of our best defenders yet alot on here think hes crap cos he cant attack, hes a defender ffs, defend first and foremost, same complainers and booers at sjp wil b ther for the next home game too and the same said persons r the reason the fcb wil never leave, its so embarrassing its laughable

We just keep gifting chances because we have defenders who do not have an outlet.

They have had 75% possession which speaks volumes.

Our midfielders are just another row of defenders.

We have nothing up front, Joelinton could turn out decent, but we cannot afford to wait for a £40 million outlay to take 25-30 games to score.
Not having a go at the lad, I would of signed if I had been offered his deal.

This is again down to ‘ he who always wants a profit ‘ – rather than sign the players we needed.

    In my opinion

Why do we never compete in midfield? Is it that fact that we have 5 defenders and have less players there or something. imo games are won and lost ( mostly lost ) in mf and we offer nothing, they literally walk passed it like it doesn’t even exist.

We also never have the fcking ball but when we do its in our own goal area.. WTF. We have a decent amount of points mainly on luck. You cannot tell me that if we lost every single game that we actually won that you would be surprised, they were crap then also.

Not seen such utter crap for so long. I didnt like Rafa much either tbh… a moaning guy who was anti-football and it was also terrible
