Bruce Adds Two Magpies To Injury List For Wolves

Steve Bruce has given his press conference this morning. While the overall update on injuries is positive, two other Magpies are now out with injuries.

Both Ki Sung-yueng and DeAndre Yedlin have picked up knocks and are unavailable for Wolves tomorrow.

While the Ki injury will not be too much of an issue, we are now down to just Emil Krafth at right wing-back with both Javier Manquillo and Yedlin ruled out.

It doesn’t sound too bad of an injury for the American. However, Newcastle have 3 games in the next 8 days and could again be left short defensively.

Though the revelation that the majority of injured players will be close to a return by the end of next week is very encouraging. Having Allan Saint-Maximin, Jamaal Lascelles, and Jonjo Shelvey for Chelsea next Saturday would be another massive boost for this team.

How Will Newcastle Fare At Wolves On Saturday?

  • Loss (66%, 1,530 )
  • Win (17%, 405 )
  • Draw (17%, 385 )

about Piatek i read earlier the deal for him going to spurs is in the early stages not there ( yet ) . Then Mourinho comes out and says he can work around not having Kane . so does it mean they are buying him or are they gonna wait till Kane gets fit and make do with what they have ? or is it all paper talk ? god i hate the January transfer window …

Out of the current top 7 there’s only Wolves (7th place) play with wing-backs
The rest while playing with a flat back four all have outstanding midfield ball-winners
While Hayden does OK I don’t think Mo Diamé has been adequately replaced.
If we aren’t going to go down the back 4 route , speedy wide men is the way to go.

Jail, agreed that Joelinton needs to be taken out of the firing line. The trouble with throwing players into the deep end is that sometimes they’ll swim but often they’ll sink, Joelinton has done the latter and needs to be given a bit of time out of the pool to shake himself off and hopefully come back stronger.

That Number 9 shirt is a funny thing – some like Rondon carry it lightly, others seem to find it an ever-increasing burden.

I’m not writing the lad off yet, but he definitely needs some TLC and for the fans not to give him cr@p. If I were Bruce I’d give Carroll the start vs Wolves and Joelinton the start vs Rochdale in the hope he can bag a couple at home to boost his confidence.

    The wife

I like the blog the way it is.

The only change I’d like to see is on the hearts system. It should be a thumbs up or thumbs down, if we’re allowed to show we approve of a post we should be allowed to show we disapprove of a post.

Hope you all had a great festive period.

Should of known Spurs would go for him, I think he would be daft to go there because once Kane is back his game time might be cut… Even though Piatek could be everybit as good as Kane

Having a disapproval button would close down discussion I think
If somebody makes a comment you disagree with , come back at them
The point of the blog/comments is to say why you disagree.

The Wife, I like the idea of a direct response mode for comments, but I think it could get confusing. You’d end up with conversations going on on different pages with different people and would have to keep on checking each. You’d have to have alerts / notifications for when you got a direct response but I imagine that you’d find people didn’t use it and just responded in the way they do now.

Also, if the replies on the ‘thread’ were invisible unless you expanded that thread, there’s a certain lack of visibility on what’s being discussed on there, which would maybe reduce the overall experience of the blog. It could also lead to targeted bullying and harassment of posters, which we are pretty good at handling as a community as things stand with all comments in the open.

All in all, I think the open format you have now works well. I would like to see the page auto-refresh for convenience so you have access to the latest comments easily. It might also address Jail’s complaint re weak wifi by refreshing in the background when he’s wandering through an area with decent signal with his phone in his pocket.

Rather than an upvote or downvote button as suggested, which could be abused and may drive posters away, we could have a rating system for comments – so if you like a comment you give it 3/3, if you don’t like a comment you give it no rating and so on. A downvote is perhaps a little negative, whereas ratings would get the idea across without the negativity.

    Sorry for the essay 😀

    The Wife

Aye that was a quite preposterous allegation to make, hence my immediate ‘what’ to it. I have the feeling that the comment was not intended in the way it came out but once the submit button is activated there’s no going back and I reckon that’s there’s a lot of comments in the blogs history that were regretted immediately after they were sent.

It’s probably best for anyone who feels aggrieved at a comment to either challenge it in a responsible way or just let it go, making a fuss just exacerbates things sometimes. A lesson often not learnt on the blog, unfortunately.

Anyway that’s my aged take on things, probably best ignored. 🙂
