Dummett, Gayle, And The Longstaff Brothers All Start At Wolves

This is the team Steve Bruce will field today at Wolves. It features four changes from the FA Cup match at Rochdale.

It looks like Steve Bruce could be using Isaac Hayden as a right-back with no natural right-backs in the squad today. We’re not sure if it’s going to be 5-3-2 or a 5-2-3 with Joelinton moved out wide.

However, it is a surprise start for Dwight Gayle with Andy Carroll only making the bench. We’ll see both Ciaran Clark and Paul Dummett make their long-awaited returns this afternoon.

The Longstaff brothers will make their second straight start together in the midfield. It’s great to see a couple of local lads in Kelland Watts and Tom Allan make the trip.

This is the starting eleven for our hosts this afternoon.

Most Newcastle fans won’t be expecting too much from this one. However, they will be expecting a better defensive display. We need to cut out the defensive errors that have plagued our recent run of bad form.

Howay The Lads!

If we didn’t need the points, this is a pretty good game, enjoyable to watch.

Should have brought Ritchie on at RWB, moved Hayden to LCB or gone to 4 at the back with being a goal in front. Ritchie on the LW and Almiron central behind ST.

    Lejeune is a liability.

    Sean Longstaff is pants.

There’s one of those headers people like to point to when looking at stats – Joleinton certainly won that header, but makes no difference because he can’t guide them at all. Difference between him and Carroll – ‘winning’ a header isn’t enough.

What is actually going on. Gayle finally shows some form and gets injured. These injuries are coming too thick and fast to be a coincidence.

this was problem before Rafa came in. Rafa came in and sorted our medical problems. Rafa said that’s one of the first thing he’ll sort.

now these dinosaur coaches come in, and our injury problem starts again.
Bruce really needs to speak to his medical staffs. wtf are they doing.

Our fitness and conditioning is atrocious.

This isn’t bad luck. Far too much evidence for that now. This is clearly systemic. poor fitness coaching, poor recovery, poor management and carelessness.

Gayle was playing really well too.

This messes up everything, Gayle through the centre had a poacher instinct, now we have Joe there and mediocre atsu out wide

    ITS NOT BAD LUCK!

It’s playing players who aren’t fit enough and a fitness team who aren’t preparing the players to handle the games.

Rafa finally improved us in this area after years of injuries, now we are worse than ever.

Bruce has his faith in staff who clearly aren’t knowledgable enough.

bruce might be directly responsible for the injuries but he needs to take responsibility.
he certainly needs to speak to his medical and fitness staff after this match.

    Great save Dubs.

Willems is ill-equipped to deal with Traore, but at least make him use his assets to put a ball in, don’t just let him amble inside of you.

Ah this is far beyond a joke now.

Bruce really must be questioned hard on our fitness regime, the information he is given on players and his decisions on putting players back in.

He simply has to be. This is NOT normal or bad luck.
