Czech Midfielder Recently Scouted Named As Type Of Player Newcastle Require

The Athletic have a report detailing Steve Bruce’s desire to bring in a box to box midfilder.

The report says that Bruce would like to bring in three players this window. While a center-forward is the primary goal, a winger and an athletic midfielder could also be targeted.

In late October, Newcastle sent scouts to watch Spartak Moscow midfielder Alex Kral. Kral is a Czech Republic international who recently joined Spartak this September from Slavia Prague for just over £10m.

Alex Kral– a David Luiz doppelganger

In the Athletic article, Kral is identified as a player who has come up in conversations as the type of player Bruce covets. The article also identifies Strasbourg’s Ibrahima Sissoko, and Lille duo Thiago Maia and Boubakary Soumare.

Sissoko has been on the radar since September, with reports claiming that Newcastle have been in contact with his representatives. However, Thiago Maia and Boubakary Soumare would seem to be longshots.

Maia has barely played for Lille after a very disappointing campaign last season. Recent reports have him possibly heading back to his native Brazil.

Soumare is on the radar of some Elite European clubs and is likely a bridge too far for Newcastle.

However, Alex Kral seems like a midfielder that ticks a few boxes for Newcastle. He’s an athletic defensive midfielder who can drive the ball forward from deep. That’s something Newcastle sorely lacks at the moment.

He’s being tracked by several Premier League clubs but none of the big boys just yet. At just 21 years old, he’s got a lot of time to get even better.

Here’s a youtube video of the midfielder in action for Slavia Prague last season.

Still endless sniping and petty attempts at point scoring on here then.

Is it really impossible to just ignore the posts you don’t like or at least use a reasoned approach to why you disagree?

It’s obvious we won’t all be on the same side every time but the squabbling undermines the fine work that the Harrisons do.

We’re doing better than expected without playing well, we have crippling injuries, which are down to many factors, the coach has said he’s looking into it so clearly ready to accept his own portion of responsibility. He wasn’t my choice by any means but fair play he’s surprised me.

The major negative is the malevolent Tapeworm and his little egg head are still in charge.
