Newcastle Summer Youth Target Reportedly Available This Month

Newcastle were reportedly in talks to sign PSG youngster Moussa Sissako this summer. As the summer window was drawing to a close, the center-back was said to be making a decision between Brighton and Newcastle.

Neither deal was completed, and the 19-year-old stayed with the PSG U19s where he has since made 9 appearances with 2 assists.

However, the 19-year-old has been told he will be allowed to leave this month. Sissako has reportedly received a couple of offers already.

Moussa Sissako– allowed to leave PSG this month

The Mali U23 international is being pursued by Celtic as well as Utrecht in the Eredivisie. French Outlet RMC Sport have reported that Celtic made an approach last week for the defender. He also has a concrete offer from Utrecht.

We wonder if Newcastle are still interested in the 6’2″ defender. He likely won’t cost much, and we had a keen interest in him just six months ago.

Newcastle are trying to bring quality youngsters into the Academy and have set aside money to do so. We seem to have won the race to sign 16-year-old Reagan Thomson from Queens Park.

So hopefully, we’ll see a few youngsters in by the end of the month.

I’m so happy we are signing players for the academy, but what type of academy will Newcastle end up being?

We seem to kill these kids in the first few years, none really make the grade or they get shipped out to lower leagues to sit on a bench.

I hoping that as Steve played under Sir Alex and he saw the arrival of players like Becks and Giggs, Scholes and Nevilles that he may take more notice of the academy and blood the players a little earlier than usual.

barkel from previous, I guess we could always hope that Bruce / Charnley have agreed deals for one or two players on the table and just need Ashley to rubber stamp them and that this is the reason for the meeting.

You’d think that would be the way things would work in a normal football club.

Although, why is the owner getting involved at all? Surely all he needs to do is let the club get on with it?

Bit of a farce, on the quiet. No surprise there…

Even the biggest clubs have the owners sign off the financials

Jib, the majority of clubs have a Director of Football or director of recruitment to sign off on player recruitment, based on an agreed budget, or trust their Managers and Directors to sort it out, those people that know about football. The MD / Chief Exec would sign off on the financials when required.

This may be different with the likes of Abramovic as it’s largely his money that Chelsea have spent over the years, but if you’re telling me that the Mansours, Glazers, Henrys or even Golds, Levys and Srivaddhanaprabhas sign off every transfer then I’m going to call you a liar.

Why wouldn’t Reagan Thomson come from Queens Park to us ?
Bruce signed Andy Robertson from Queens Park for Hull City
he’s now considered arguably the best left-back in the world .

Getting Ashley to give a final sign off a deal should be nothing more than a formality with the details having been signed off by Barnes (the de facto Chief Exec) Charmless and Bruce.

But there might be something to suggest that this is no more than a PR exercise from Ashley’s camp, trying to dispel the image for not being interested in NUFC.

I wonder whether The Magpie Group’s open letter might have prompted his ‘interest’?

Jib – “Tsunki because of a point earned at Wolves went into hiding for 40 hours or so.
He’s feeling his weight again now , and gone into motormouth mode.

What an utterly wretched fan he is”

Just because you can spend 24/7 in front of a laptop drinking graffiti remover with your nethers plumbed into a 25litre drum doesn’t mean we all have to keep you company you lousy screecher. You’re nowt when not squawking on about someone – if you notice the posts since that valued yet painful point have been thin on the ground because we now are getting into an area where team problems centre around fringe players most folk don’t know. Give it a rest you clown .
