Two Magpies Selected In Alan Shearer’s Team Of The Week

You can tell Newcastle have played well when a Magpie or two ends up in Alan Shearer’s Team of the Week.

Newcastle stopped the rot on Saturday at Wolves mainly due to the heroic exploits of two players in Miguel Almiron and Martin Dubravka.

Alan Shearer has selected both for his Team of the Week.

Dubravka has been selected several times by Alan Shearer, but we believe this is just the second time for Miguel Almiron. Both Dubravka and Almiron were chosen by Alan in our 1-0 win against Crystal Palace just before Christmas.

Those were the days as we had won three of four and were looking primed to climb the table. However, as it turns out, that was the last time Newcastle have won.

Though the lads played very well on Saturday despite facing adversity with both Paul Dummett and Dwight Gayle forced off early with injuries leaving Bruce again with a selection nightmare for the FA Cup.

Hopefully, we have enough quality to see off Rochdale in the second attempt. With this one at St James Park, there’s no excuse for not advancing.

What Will Be The Result Of FA Cup Replay Against Rochdale?

  • Win (80%, 1,306 )
  • Loss (17%, 275 )
  • Draw (3%, 54 )

I hope he picks a fit senior side. No one risked who’s carrying a strain or a knock, but when there is a reasonable amount of time between games now, then surely you play your strongest fit 11.

For the FA cup rematch Bruce should get two youngsters starting at full back, in a 442.
Willems is not listed as injured, so could start and bring Joelinton on as striker later in the game when there is more space and time. Or even start Ritchie at RB, Atsu RW and either Allen or SORENSEN as a forward.
We should not be fearing them, not play all defensive as per and if we lose, F’it.

    ————–Almiron——Atsu
    Willems—S.Longstaff—Hayden—Ritchie
    Francillette—Clarke—Fernandez—Allen
    ——————–Dubravka

If the great Xavi doesn’t take the role this time they’ll test Pochs word thoroughly. Apparently Koeman being considered as well. His Everton stepping stone well and truly backfired. He seems like a smart man and will have learned not to sign for teams who sign has been a off more successful clubs. He has reestablished his name with his Dutch national team exploits. Picked the perfect moment to takeover. They had hit rock bottom in terms of success and had a golden generation coming through. He has only ever had eyes for the Barcelona job. Is this his time.

”Manager’s Relationship With Owner Could Bear Fruit This Month”
What relationship, they’ve met once, have they even spoken more than once. I remember Bobbybee telling us in his unique way that ”The relationship between Rafa and Ashley was better than you think, whether you like it or not” as it ‘appens, Rafa is quoted as saying he’s met his new bosses more times in one week than he did Ashley in three years.

Agree with the sarcasm. The last time we organised a transfer months in advance we ended up with…

    … Joelinton

Better off panic buying and in come the likes of Debuchy, Gouffran and Sissoko.

Tsunki………. Re Samatta ; It was me, It was me. Seriously though I know I keep harping on but with a release clause of £10m there is nobody with his proven goal scoring record for that money that is ready and robust enough to adapt to the PL.

Surely waiting to discuss transfer targets mid way through the window currently open is incompetence.

Surely having regular discussions and open dialogue to plan ahead and even have a few different options for which scenario occurs. For example, scenario a- we are mid table and little to no injuries then the plan would be no major input. Scenario b- in relegation consideration and few injuries then priorities would be player x y and z. I imagine successful teams would do it this way rather than have a meeting scheduled for mid january, Ashley and charnley are certainly showing how inept they are at running this once great club.

Transfer summit? I wonder if they’ll notice we could do with a goal scorer? Otherwise they could just keep Gayle who will be potent in the Championship next season.

The regime has been proven to be incompetent many times. It’s amazing that they have any support at all, but they do and, on this blog!!!!
