Newcastle Academy Target Confirms He’s A Magpie On Social Media

Yesterday, there was a report that shed new details on Newcastle’s pursuit of Queens Park teenager Reagan Thomson.

The report revealed that Newcastle had a bid of £50k plus add-ons accepted for Thomson. The midfielder was also due to sign a two-and-a-half year deal and link up with the U23s.

It looks like that may have already happened as the 16-year-old has put up the following image on his Instagram account along with a statement that he has, in fact, signed for Newcastle.

Buzzing to have signed for Newcastle??

Former Plymouth winger Gregg Wylde also tweeted the image on Twitter, which kind of caught fire yesterday with local outlets releasing the picture. Though Wylde seems to have trouble with the spelling of his compatriot’s name.

We hope the young man doesn’t get told off for being a bit over-anxious in his joy. Our first winter signing, albeit for the Academy, seems done and dusted.

Welcome to Newcastle Reagan Thomson!

Has anyone watched much of Kyle Scott for the unders this season? He’s 22 now so should surely be looking to make an impression in the cup tonight if he was to get a chance ?

    Also that Cyprien looks great

Bruce has to put out a strong team tonight. This is a game we cannot afford to lose for the morale of the fans and the team! He has to forget the league for tonight and go for it especially as we have a winnable tie in the next round,.
    What do you think?

Welcome Reagan Thomson, I hope you have many happy years filled with much success here.

If you happen to see a fat man climbing down from a helicopter and stick a Glasgow kiss on him, you’ll be an instant hero. Just saying…..

    Moonraker,

The Shields Gazette has the following quote from Bruce so it looks like he could field only senior players with two on the bench. They reckon it’s Tom Allan and Elias Sorensen.

“At this moment, they’ll be two of them (Under-23 players on the bench),”

That’s good news! It’s a must win tonight and I’m sure SB knows that!
I’m pretty confident I must say! Just gonna check the odds I might have a small wager on us!

We have to put out our strongest team tonight with maybe the exception of GK. A win is a win and is much needed at the moment.

    Whoops, we’re 2/9 with BetVictor so I don’t think I’ll bother!

He should play 2 or 3 of the young players if we don’t actually sign a striker in this window then Toure or Sorensen are going to have to get first team minutes so we might as well give them a taste tonight

As much as some like to skit Jib you can’t deny he makes a good point that if he thought it was a bit weird we had dropped from within the top 20 to outside the top 30 on that Deloitte’s list in one year then there something wrong. So if he could work this out and find the answer with a little digging then how come so called professional journalists can’t?

It’s a bigger story for journalists that we’re out of the top 30 but to most we are now an also ran irrelevance anyway!
Personally, one look at the list it was obviously inaccurate when you see Leicester City and similar size clubs in it and we are not!

    @Martoon

Maybe journalists aren’t allowed to point it out?

Spotlight is already on Ashley’s business dealings its a drop in revenue which could easily be manipulated in the books and no journalist seems brave enough to ask questions ? Maybe they just don’t care about the Toon?

Lee Charnley’s BP – I thought I read something about Scott having been injured since November and was either still recovering or just returning to training…
