Newcastle Confirm Signing Of Scottish Youngster

Newcastle United have announced the signing of 16-year-old Reagan Thomson from Scottish club Queens Park.

The youngster made his own announcement on his Instagram account earlier this week, but it’s good to see that Newcastle have finally confirmed the signing.

This is what Thomson said about why he wanted to sign for Newcastle:

“I just thought Newcastle is the place I want to be, a better place to come in my opinion.

“You look at boys like Sean and Matty Longstaff, and then young Tom Allan who came on the other night – hopefully in a few years, I can try and get in there.”

Here is a tweet from Queens Park about the youngster.

Reports last week said that Reagan would link up the Ben Dawson’s U23s and that he would sign on an initial 2 1/2 year deal. However, Newcastle did not provide any details in their announcement.

We wish the youngster the best of luck and hope he can make an impact in the first team in the coming years.

but news agency and the press in general are a total different kettle of fish as has been proved many times over the years

From someone who’s been living up in Scotland for a long time now and played as well as coached at various different levels, there really is a good generation of players coming through.

Queens Park are a great example of it as well as a club like Hamilton. Hopefully this won’t be the last prospect we bring in and from his words the fact we’ve had a few academy lads coming through of late will reflect well to young players and their families/advisors.
