Two Stars Return As Six Ruled Out For Chelsea

Steve Bruce has given his press conference this morning and updated the injury status of the squad. It looks like Allan Saint-Maximin and Fabian Schar could be involved in some capacity for tomorrow’s Chelsea match.

Here is a tweet from the Athletic’s Chris Waugh giving a rundown of the current injury situation, according to Bruce this morning.

We’re not sure what the situation is with Andy Carroll as he played on Tuesday. We suppose he’s always going to be a question mark with his fitness history.

Bruce is still short two strikers in Dwight Gayle and Yoshinori Muto so hopefully, Andy will be able to go tomorrow.

Of the six ruled out, it looks like two of them are far from making their return. It’s devastating news for Paul Dummett who has really done his hamstring in.

Also, Dwight Gayle will likely be out for another month as Bruce has again announced that he will remain a Magpie for the rest of the season.

Here is an update on Paul and Dwight for this morning’s press conference.

It’s a mixed bag on the injury front this week. Having Allan Saint-Maximin back is a massive boost. Though Bruce will hopefully take the cautious route with the 22-year-old and give him a few cameos from the bench over the next few weeks.

How Will Newcastle Fare Against Chelsea On Saturday?

BenbulbenMag exactly until the cancer that is MA has gone well will be nothing except making up the numbers, as for a sporting competing entity forget all about that idea.

Strange that MA claims that he should be nowhere near owning a football club or that he is desperate to get rid of the club, yet after several takeover attempts nothing has came of these and he’s still here. Especially given the speed at which he bought the club.

I’m assuming Brucie has told Ashlie that he wants to sign Samatta from Genk after finally paying heed to my advice. If they allow Villa to get in before us then I will be unconsolably devastated and will never again offer my advice to the club.

    Paul Dummett injury…
From Sky Sport’s Keith Downie: “Paul Dummett facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after hamstring injury at Wolves.

“Newcastle awaiting second opinion but could be months rather than weeks out for the defender.”

Saint Max is back that’s all I care about, although my heart will be in my mouth everytime he goes down.

No surprise that Carroll is a constant injury assessment despite the successful operation to resolve his {insert any body part here} – think he’s actually done a lot better than Linton in overall team play and is useful to bring on as an extra defender when we’re backs against the wall in last 20 mins. Good to have Ritchie back for the weekend , he’s been a miss in our current team and will be until we sign a suitable wing back / winger

Barbour has replaced Sports Direct advert at Bruce presser

Dame Margaret Barbour is 80 and I doubt has an interest in footy
However the company appointed 4 new directors last May
    It’s worth over £2 Billion
If the Simonside based company do take over NUFC , Jail will have kittens

Hopefully ASM can start clicking with Miggy and they can both start banging the goals in – he may be exciting to watch but we need end product from him ..even more so now Carroll/ Gayle / Muto injured and we only have Linton 50p heed as our striker

We have a growing collection of players who it seems are always on borrowed time injury-wise. (Dummet, Lejeune,GAYLE, Clarke, Carroll..)
Not good when we have lack of cover in some areas.

NB. Don’t bite me with your Google sponsored dentures Jib.

    Bruce on transfers…
“There are lots (of players) available but maybe not of the right quality.
We’ve identified 1 or 2 we think can make the difference & let’s hope we can get 1 or 2 over the line.
I’ve got to let 1 or 2 go out because we have to make room in the squad.”

Mmm, strange that Barbour would associate itself with SD unless there’s some association with the Fraser Group.

The name Barbour would be a one to have a dealership for but would Barbour want to run a reputational risk going with what was SD,? I suspect not at this stage of Fraser’s development under Ashley.

I was very critical of Brucey when he first came to SJP, However I am now starting to like his honesty and passion that is starting to show both on the touch line and pre / post match interviews.
I still see him waring the Man U strip though lol.
