Injured Magpies Issue Heartfelt Messages After Confirmation Their Seasons Are Over

Jetro Willems has tweeted the following message after this morning’s confirmation of his ACL injury.

This is a heartfelt message from Jetro, who is clearly going through a tough time at the moment. However, he seems to have the right outlook and is preparing for the long road ahead.

It would be a terrible conclusion to his Newcastle United career if the Chelsea game ends up being his last. Hopefully, that will not be the case.

We know that the club has to protect itself and must be diligent rather than emotional. However, Jetro has been a class player this season and looks to be one of the best left-backs in the Premier League.

The hope is that his surgery is successful and that Jetro can come back stronger than ever. We are sure Newcastle will monitor his progress and make every effort to bring him back if it’s the right move to make.

Paul Dummett has also taken to Twitter and issued the following message.

This is another terrible blow for Paul Dummett. The local lad had been getting a lot of first-team football but has again had a season disrupted by injury.

Unfortunately, this latest injury has ended this one, but Paul will do everything to be ready for the start of the next campaign.

How Will Newcastle Do At Everton On Tuesday?

Ahh man Willems, gutted for the lad. Thank you for a good half season and I hope he recovers fully and gets back to his normal best.

Heartbreaking message but nicely put, how refreshing and unexpected aswell.

Gutted for both Paul and Jetro. Hopefully they’ll both respond well to treatment and be back stronger next season. Might just open the door though for Rolando Aarons. If his attitude in training has been good, I wouldn’t mind seeing him get another go. Always showed so much promise. Who knows……..

I’d like to see us add additional pace. Pace and work rate. Liverpool pin teams back with pace and work rate. Now we won’t be able to afford a front three who can marry that with technical class. But it would be a joy to watch. Although so were Perez Almiron and Big Sal

On Bowen I’m unsure of how the contract extension works? But if he is allowed to leave for free in the summer how the hell can they demand so much when Spurs have had to haggle to get just 11 Million for Eriksen.

3rd major knee injury for Willems I think? At 25 that doesn’t bode well for the future, as well as he played for us when fit id be looking for alternatives.

Think Bowen will go down to the last day of the window, brinksmanship will go on between the 2 clubs to the death with charnley hoping hull blink first. Worked with Miggy last year..

Our Toon from previous, Josef Martinez looks great, instinctive, quick and with an eye for goal. He and Miggy had a great relationship on and off the pitch and brought the best out of each other. He’s an international teammate of Rondon and I wanted to see all three of them playing together before last summer.

I think the USA League is in its close season now, so it’s a good time to be shopping over there.

Whether he could replicate his form in a European League or not is the intangible here. I had doubts over Miggy with his physique and it’s taken him a year to get somewhere near his best, though his contribution has admittedly been good since he arrived.

Would Martinez get a year to prove himself, if he needed it? As a striker, judged mainly on goals, I’m not sure he would. Look at the treatment of joelinton as an eg.

Pacey front 3 would be great, maybe the lad from Atlanta would be a good option then?

Disappointed in gayle though, seems he has a mental block at top level, he could be the answer if he wasnt so flimsy

It’ll take him awhile to get match fit then as he’s no doubt been on his jolly’s with season ending. Match fitness would be an issue and he’d need time to settle.

That’s my gripe as no matter who comes in patience isnt allowed unfortunately

Rob, the difference is Joelinton, never a prolific scorer, has been played as sole striker, whereas Martinez is a proven scorer.

9, can’t argue with that logic. You never forget where the goal is, at the end of the day, so an instinctive scorer in one League should be able to do the same in another.

And yet, to counter that, I give you Dwight Gayle.

Bowen must be signed. I think we’ll seal the deal. Not sure about Bentaleb. Spurs reject. Feel sorry for Willems. He’s been one of our best players. Hopefully we’ll sign him for next season. Best left back we’ve had since Bernard and Santon.

If Lazaro doesn’t want to come here then tell him to jog on so we can look else where, I bet he is waiting for better options

Martinez would be a great signing and I reckon he’d slot straight into the EPL, as I said in an comment a couple of days ago we should ‘go west’ plenty of talent in the MSL.

Another one I keep banging on about is Valeri of Portland, wrong side of 30 but a fantastic player worth getting on loan. Makes and scores goals for fun

Everybody knows the 3 Amigos in the second half of last season were mustard. Give Joelinton some slack to play where he was always supposed to, and Miggy, Martinez and Joe COULD BE IT ! With our Andy to come on as/when needed. Sorted, our glaring weakness suddenly becomes powerful. Allan St Max on top ! Wow!

Ibrahima Sissoko would be a better signing than Bentalab. Got to give him a chance though. Will be better than Hayden. Good news to get him out of the team. Not technical enough.
