There is another report in Siempre Inter detailing the progress of Newcastle’s pursuit of Inter Milan winger Valentino Lazaro.
The latest news is that Lazaro’s agent will again hold further talks with Newcastle today. If true, this has to be a very positive development in the negotiations.
Newcastle have already agreed on a €2m loan fee with a €20m option to buy with Inter. So the report says that the meeting today would be over personal terms between Newcastle and Lazaro.
This report comes on the heels of some other news in Sport Witness that Newcastle are still in the driver’s seat for Lazaro and that it will all come down to personal terms.
That report says there is interest from RB Leipzig, Werder Bremen, and West Ham but that Newcastle are still in contact with the player’s agent Max Hagmayr. It also says that an agreement on terms could be reached today at some point.
It looks like Newcastle are very close to a couple of additions to the squad in Nabil Bentaleb and Valentino Lazaro. With both Jetro Willems and Paul Dummett out for the season, there’ll be two squad places available.
Hopefully, there’ll be some news on a possible bid for Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen soon as well. Bruce will also have to bring in a left-back as cover this month too.
One route could be to recall Achraf Lazaar from Cosenza Calcio, though we don’t think that is a very good one.
Newcastle’s head of scouting, Steve Nickson, will have plenty of left-backs options to go over. Some of those names are bound to pop up in the coming weeks.
For today, it looks like some excellent progress has been made on the transfer front. With any luck, we could see a couple of new Magpies holding up the shirt by the end of the week.
