Report – Newcastle Remain Deadlocked In Negotiations For Top Target

Luke Edwards, with the Telegraph, is reporting that Newcastle and Hull are still very far apart on reaching any agreement over Jarrod Bowen.

Last week Edwards reported that Newcastle were preparing a firm bid for the 23-year-old. However, it seems the valuation of the player is too far apart for any agreement to happen at this moment.

Hull City’s asking price for their star player remains over £20m while Newcastle are only willing to offer £12m plus performance-based add ons.

Newcastle feel that with Bowen having just one year remaining on his contract at Hull this summer, paying Hull’s asking price this month would not be good value.

We are very disappointed if this is the best offer that Newcastle are willing to make. Surely, they can start with at least £15m upfront.

Hull, however, also have to be reasonable with the player. Bowen has been offered an improved contract this weekend, but there’s little reason for him to extend with the Tigers this month.

Hopefully, Newcastle and Hull will continue to negotiate and are willing to compromise on their current stances.

retaining possession will take a lot of time to implement in this team. I think we all agree Rafa drilled that out as a club culture. Purely because of the limitations he had to work under before his girlfriend jail kicks off. Bruce needed quick wins to win over the discontented(myself and most of us). And he has been a success so far. If he had went for it there’s a good chance he’d have been mcclaren ii

Now next season we would be correct to call for improvement on this front if he had ever planned it

A rondon type of forward is needed more than an ings type in my opinion, someone who has an all round game and can finish

Should just pay the £20m. He is worth it and is English and only just turned 23. He’s best on the wing though, but can also play as a striker. We’re also in for Soumare. I reckon Santon will re-sign for us on loan.

I remember this time last year, we were negotiating with Atlanta over Almiron and people were getting frustrated that we wouldn’t pay whatever they wanted for him.

Business doesn’t work like that, Hull will become more desperate to sell as time goes on but are currently waiting to see if any other offers land on the table.

Still see this one as being more likely in the summer. May well be wrong though.

I’m unsure of how the contract extension works? But if he is allowed to leave for free in the summer how the hell can they demand so much when Spurs have had to haggle to get just 11 Million for Eriksen.

Our Toon, Josef Martinez looks great, instinctive, quick and with an eye for goal. He and Miggy had a great relationship on and off the pitch and brought the best out of each other. He’s an international teammate of Rondon and I wanted to see all three of them playing together before last summer.

I think the USA League is in its close season now, so it’s a good time to be shopping over there.

Whether he could replicate his form in a European League or not is the intangible here. I had doubts over Miggy with his physique and it’s taken him a year to get somewhere near his best, though his contribution has admittedly been good since he arrived.

Would Martinez get a year to prove himself, if he needed it? As a striker, judged mainly on goals, I’m not sure he would. Look at the treatment of joelinton as an eg.

We should offer 16 million. I think that is fair with add ons to reach 20million. That’s a fair deal. 12 million is low balling them. Not surprised it’s not happened

From the videos I’ve seen I’m not sold on bowen. Not for any more than 20 mil. Id take him though as he’s better than what we have at rw. Although if we’re to spend over 20 I’d rather it be on a natural striker and move Joel’s into an attacking mid role with Max and miggy.
