Almiron, Clark, And The Longstaff Brothers Get Starts At Everton

Here is the team Steve Bruce has selected for the match at Goodison Park. It has four changes from the win against Chelsea.

The glaring omission is Allan Saint-Maximin, who has not made the trip, which is very concerning. We hope he has not reinjured himself.

Bruce has rotated the squad somewhat bringing the Longstaff brothers into the midfield. Isaac Hayden has moved to right wing-back, and Christian Atsu comes in for Saint-Maximin.

The back three who played so well on Saturday all keep their place with Florian Lejeune and Fabian Schar on the bench.

It’s great to see two local lads, Liam Gibson and Tom Allan, on the bench for this one.

This is who Carlo Ancelotti has picked for Everton.

Newcastle have a great opportunity to climb into the top half of the table with a win. Let’s hope this team can do the job this evening.

It’s going to be difficult as the team is short on substitute options with four defenders on the bench.

Howay The Lads!

Completely gutted by the omission of ASM. Atsu has looked useless recently in the prem.

ASM made our winner in the 94th minute at the weekend, if he had been subbed off we may only have 1 point instead of 3 right now.

Id take 3 points in the bag instead of 1 before we play today thx.

This is also why we need another winger brought in as cant rely on Miggy and ASM to be fit for every match.

Brucie has had to rotate players a bit due to all the games. Better giving ASM more recovery time than to play him and he ends up injured again.

Everton have always been a bogey team for us. Unfortunately I do not think we can pull off another “Chelsea” result so I’m obliged to suggest a big defeat is on the cards for us. 4 -1 to Everton.

    Nufc are you thick?

Save ASM for this game? You have the audacity to question that decision when you have the availability of hindsight?

    My god.

It’s not like ASM is the main cause of our victory against Chelsea which completely justified Bruce’s decision.

You would have thought that ASM would have at least been on the bench.

Atsu needs to be gone as he offers bugger all.

There must be a reason ASM is not figuring, perhaps two weeks to fully recover is worth his omission tonight.

Hope I’m wrong but I fear the L’s will be dominated physically in CM – there will be alot of running, chasing and huffing and puffing from Matty especially but you need much more than that.

Even against Rochdale the pair of them were along way off dominating that game with far too many sideways passes and nothing balls – the 4-1 scoreline flattered us.

This doesn’t look a strong line up to me.

Fair play to Bruce for having the courage to give this gem a real crack at it

Mag you can’t use hindsight to suggest Bruce shouldn’t have had a plan to bring ASM back with a view on impacting both games. Maybe his sub would have scored 5 and made it an easy win?

What a great idea for the Everton team name sheet; hopefully it catches on with other teams. Pickford looks about right.

Have we pushed ASM too far, too soon again. Thought the fitness and conditioning people and Bruce would have learnt and had him in cotton wool, not playing 94 mins straight off, despite that vital last ditch cross. Virtually impotent without him, even if he himself isn’t a scorer.

Really tough break for Willems too, he and ASM have been real standouts.

I’ve mentioned this before…not sure why it’s imperative the brothers Longstaff start together

Matty should be ahead of Sean in pecking order based on form. Would love to see Matty and Jonjo together

Really need a winger in. Atsu is best coming off the bench. Not a perm level starter unfortunately

ASM will be stiff, hasn’t played for a bit.

His muscles will need more time to recover, no point risking another injury.

We SHOULD have more of the ball tonight, ASM as a outlet was more Valuable against Chelsea.

Bruce played his Trump card against Chelsea and it won him the game.

No Saint Max… Wow my anticipation just dropped hugely… And Atsu sigh he really is so useless he just isn’t good enough for the Prem, we might as well be playing with 10 men..i would prefer a youngster

Hard to see us getting anything more than a point tonight, pretty sure our record at Goodison is very poor.

Would be nice to see Tom Allan get half hour.

We need an upgrade on Atsu, can’t we throw him in the deal for Bowen. 15 mill and Atsu.

Jail Tom Allan is a pact right winger who hugs the touchline and uses his pace to burn off his opponents.

He has a good cross on him and is intelligent enough to look up before he decides where to put it.

    He’s a promising young player.
