Newcastle at Everton – Team Prediction, Injuries, And Poll Result

This is the lineup we predict Steve Bruce will select for tonight’s match at Everton. It features just one change from Saturday’s win against Chelsea with Matt Ritchie coming in for the injured Jetro Willems.

While it’s a risk to start some of the returning players with just three days rest, Bruce is likely to take the gamble with the FA Cup match against Oxford providing an opportunity for heavy rotation.

During his press conference yesterday, Bruce provided the somber news that both Jetro Willems and Paul Dummett were out for the remainder of the season.

He, however, did say that everyone else was close to a return but hinted that today’s match may be too soon for most of them.

It looks like we’ll still have at least 7 players unavailable with Andy Carroll facing a late fitness test.

Everton are in pretty bad shape as well, with three of their regulars ruled out along with the two long-term injured players.

Newcastle Injuries

Jetro Willems – knee, Javier Manquillo – hamstring, Yoshinori Muto – hip, Dwight Gayle – hamstring, Paul Dummett – hamstring, Ki Sung-yueng – undisclosed, DeAndre Yedlin – knee, Andy Carroll – hip (late fitness test)

Everton Injuries

Richarlison – knee, Alex Iwobi – hamstring, Gylfi Sigurdsson – groin, Jean-Philippe Gbamin – thigh, Andre Gomes – ankle, Michael Keane – neck (late fitness test)

Our poll shows that Newcastle fans are optimistic we can get a result at Goodison Park this evening. Only 30% of the 2,670 votes are for a Newcastle loss.

A win or a draw would be a very good proposition against this in-form Everton team. Either would get Newcastle to the 30 point threshold for the season.

That would be an excellent accomplishment in January considering the injury crisis this squad has suffered through over the past two months.

How Will Newcastle Do At Everton On Tuesday?

  • Draw (35%, 944 )
  • Win (35%, 936 )
  • Lose (30%, 790 )

Total Voters: 2,670

Richarlison and Sigurdsson are huge misses for the blue noses. The positives
out the last poor performance was the strength of the defence – a draw at the very least I hope.

Why would anybody want to sign for a club who are anti football and a p@@@ poor manager who makes no excuses for it
A club going nowhere a club who doesn’t deserve to be on the same pitch as teams who want to win

Yeah could see that happening and tbh, not sure what I think of it.

    Unused
That depends. Some people see Lazaro as a rb/rwb whereas I see him as a right midfielder/winger primarily. So although different, both players fulfil the winger role in my eyes.

Hibbit, lol at including the pennies – dedication!

I got the info from The Mag, which is obviously a third party reference, so I looked up the article on Bild itself which quotes 5M Euros salary – roughly 96k Euros per week.

BTW, Bild are not very big fans of Bentaleb, but worth remembering that they are very definitely a tabloid, rather than a broadsheet.

    https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/fussball/schalke-04-nabil-bentaleb-vor-wechsel-zu-newcastle-67457350.bild.html

After 3.5 years in the Schalke jersey for midfield man Nabil Bentaleb (25 / contract until 2021), the Pott Club is over!

The Algerian is about to switch to Newcastle United on loan and will be parked at the Premier League club for six months.

According to BILD information, the English pay around 1 million rental fee, then have a purchase option for 10 million euros.

What remains of Bentaleb on Schalke? Especially a hole in the till …

Bentaleb to England – Schalke solves his most expensive problem

Review: In 2016, ex-manager Christian Heidel (56) only brought Bentaleb on loan from Tottenham, then made it the second most expensive purchase in the club’s history to date with a transfer fee of 22.5 million euros.

Because instead of convincing on the square, the self-sufficient big earner (around 5 million euros salary) keeps dancing out of line with discipline:

Bentaleb is suspended on Schalke a total of four (!) Times and finally sorted out by coach David Wagner (48) in the summer.

Bitter: Because in August a transfer to Bremen bursts due to a knee surgery at the last second, he also blocked important transfer coal for a new striker. Because despite being relegated to the reserve, Bentaleb continued to collect his salary as normal …

Newcastle will do this in the future – Schalke’s most expensive misunderstanding will soon be over!

Calvert lewin is in a bit of a golden patch at the minute, dont think he’s a top player, but he’s in top form so need to keep him quiet…need a solid performance…no dickin about giving daft free kicks away around the box,or any stupidity to get the crowd goin or give everton any confidence…solid, professional and hard work…and we could get something out of this game.

Andy Caroll is like an old horse who was very capable in his youth but now that old age / wear and tear has started to take it’s toll, requires careful management and the right medication to stay in the game.
There are various techniques available now with modern medicine to infiltrate joints and muscles with pain killers and anti inflammatories. Let’s just get him injected up and scrape the last bit of action out of him before he goes to the knackers yard.

Well if there’s ever a time to get a win at Everton it’s tonight, yes we have players out but they have some that are huge for them to.

It would be a good night to see a header thumped into the net by Joe and Migs or Max getting that top corner smash.

I want the win, always do, yes some teams we would expect to lose to but when you beat teams like Chelsea, Man U then all teams are there for the taking, want us to get to 40 plus points sooner rather than later.

Tsunki……….. As you must be aware we didn’t get him , he’s went to Villa instead.
I suggest you think of an alternative and propose it to the club. They might listen to you.

Just pulling your leg. It would be typical if he did really well. I have only seen him in champs league games and YT clips so not really in a position to say how he’ll do but he has some good qualities.

Ronaldo…………… It Samatta of principle with the club being too stubborn to listen to sensible advice. I honestly don’t understand why they can’t see that we need a goal scorer.

Obviously we can free up 2 squad places by removing Dummy and Willems but if by some miracle we bring in 3 players it will be interesting to see who will be removed – I’m thinking maybe Mutu or Ki but as we’re not blessed with strikers more likely Ki?
