Bentaleb, Saint-Maximin, And Yedlin Get Starts Against Oxford

Here is the side Steve Bruce has selected to take on Oxford at St James Park this afternoon. It has five changes from the draw at Goodison Park.

DeAndre Yedlin has been declared fit and gets the start along with Allan Saint-Maximin. New boy Nabil Bentaleb is handed his Newcastle United debut and will partner Sean Longstaff in the midfield.

We hope the proceedings this afternoon allow for another appearance for Tom Allan as well as a debut for Elias Sorensen, who both make the bench.

This is the team Oxford manager Karl Robinson has picked.

Newcastle have a golden chance to get to the fifth round of the FA Cup for the first time in the Ashley era. Steve Bruce has again selected a strong side and we’ll hopefully get a comfortable win this afternoon.

Howay The Lads!

2 wrong from my prediction Longstaff instead of Shelvey who must be injured and Ritchie fit enough to play ahead of Atsu.

Besides giving Dubravka a well earned rest that’s pretty much the strongest team we could field at the moment. Well done Brucey for giving it a go.

Staveley probably sets a company up every other week.

    Come on wake up.

Do you seriously think that NUFC’s the only club that’s a potential target for takeover?

And, if Ashlie pi$$es about, they’re off to look elsewhere.

Whether the latest news is true or not it’s somewhat funny that we get comments like shirebrook or robs. I’ll try not to get into politics but look at home before pointing the finger to other countries

How do these reporters that have been telling us about transfer/loan deals by the club not get told by the club about a takeover?

Yet once it’s printed by another outlet, was journal, they are now being told about the takeover.

Good to see Yedlin back. Hayden has to be admired for playing RWB, but it’s clearly not Hayden’s position—I would like to think Hayden is now officially retired as a wing-back.

Maximin should by all rights have this game finished by half time.

    Next mike Williamson

You blast a manager for not playing strong teams and blame the regime when it comes to cup games, now you have a dig for playing a strong team.

Almiron needs a rest I’ll agree with that but we are 2 weeks away from players getting a break so makes sense in playing him and joelinton. As for ASM he returned from injury last week, if anything he needs minutes to get match fit so resting him makes no sense

Decent team today, will be good to see Bentaleb in it from the start.

How everyone manages to get to the gave ok, or that the lads indulge those that don’t by not scoring till they get there

Surely if Mikey actually was trying to sell the club, which is highly unlikely, he would carefully consider the moral aspect of who to sell to rather than just thinking of himself and money.

On the latest takeover scam, please don’t fall for that sh.t again. I know some people are Gullible but ffs that bollox is wearing thin.

If/when the club is ever sold it will be kept behind closed doors and anounced when the deal is done.

    Fingers crossed for todays match!
