Newcastle United have announced that Kelland Watts will join Mansfield Town on loan for the remainder of the season.
? #NUFC defender Kell Watts has joined @mansfieldtownfc on loan until the end of the season.
Best of luck, @KellWatts1!
— Newcastle United FC (@NUFC) January 28, 2020
The 20-year-old Watts was recalled from Stevenage this month after making 20 appearances for the League Two club, who are currently in last place.
It’s interesting that Newcastle have sent Watts back to the same division rather than seeking a move at a higher level for the defender.
Here is Mansfield Town announcing the loan signing of Kelland.
BREAKING NEWS: We are delighted to announce the signing of versatile @NUFC defender @KellWatts1 on loan until the end of April! ?
— Mansfield Town FC (@mansfieldtownfc) January 28, 2020
This is what Mansfield manager Gary Coughlan had to say about the youngster:
“Kelland is a player who can play in numerous positions. He can play center-half in a two or a three, he can sit in front [of the defense] or he can go in at left-back.
“He is technically very good. He’s big, strong and suits the division. I would say his best position is a centre-half, but if he needs to, he’s comfortable in front of the back four.
“He knows what the division is about and he’s young, fit and hungry. He has a desire, work rate, and attitude, which is exactly what we’re looking to build here at this football club.”
We wish Kelland all the best at Mansfield and hope he proves to be a big asset to them for the rest of this campaign.

Comment #47I think I’ve dropped my phone one too many times, hyperlinks don’t appear blue and the comments are so far to the right (not politically, please, nobody say the B word) I lose half the first letter? Strange.
On Fakeover 190, has DubaiMickey posted a pic of the heads of terms yet? Has blog ITK Online Guy given us a cryptic clue yet? The Who? Has a dentist on Twitter told it is happening 100%, yet? Have I started sitting on my high horse and abused the so called ITKs yet? Have people started defending the ITKs yet? Has anybody said they will leave the blog if it doesn’t happen?
The circus is back in town folks and I’m here to do nothing but poke the elephant. But it is all in good humour.

Comment #49West Ham are rapidly becoming the basket case club of the Premiership.
Would be good to see them down in the Championship and having to ground share with Fulham while their public funded stadium returns to public use or maybe Ashley buys it and turns it into a shopping centre.
West Ham United say staying in the Premier League is “an absolute necessity” after posting financial losses of £27.26m.
Despite spending more than £130m on transfers, and £214.4m in the last four years, they are only above the Premier League drop zone on goal difference.
The accounts, for the year to 31 May 2019, show the backing the club gave to former manager Manuel Pellegrini. He was sacked in December and was replaced by David Moyes.
“Retention of our status in 2019-20 season is an absolute necessity for the future wellbeing of the club,” said West Ham, in their accounts. The club say there will be “serious financial consequences” should they be relegated into the Championship.

Comment #64Why do the WHU owners give a shit about the club now? They gained millions from selling the boleyn ground and renting one. To be fair we have to be pleased that we in effect rent the land from the Freemen, can you imagine?
Anyway, get the Sheikh in, turn the ground through 90 degrees and build a 70,000+ stadium.
Imagine how that Cathedral on the Hill would look?
Only problem is, where would the club play for 2 years and what potential effect could that have on the club?

Comment #65There is more chance of the Pope turning Muslim than Ashley selling.
Its all quite hilarious.
He has been negotiating with a fixer for one of the richest men in the world for FOUR months. A female fixer he dislikes. £350 million is peanuts to this man. Why does it take 4 months.??? 10 or 20 million here or there is by the by to this man.
After stalling for 4 months, Ashley needs to come up with an excuse to pull the plug. Cue the usual excuse that he is outraged that the deal has been leaked. (What the hell that matters when the deal is allegedly sealed is beyond me). He needs to look no further than himself for the source of the leak.
Two other potential buyers have also leaked their interest at the same time as the Arab leak. Why????
But we have been down this road many times have we not.??
And the same old format continues… The buying side is alleging that the deal is 90 per cent done (its actually Ashley) while the Ashley camp stay silent. Just expressing rage at the leak. He must be mega angry at the two other leaks he has instigated. Hahaha.
Ashley has cooled on the original interest while he considers the other two parties. Been here often? And then the process is dragged out and out until the season tickets are bought.
And then there is silence forever. Nobody ever heard of the last bidders after the period of silence and the same will happen here.
No comment Ashley who never explains what is going on. Just treating the fans as idiots and with contempt.
There is a buyer but no seller. Same as it ever was and the same format of obfuscation when a buyer comes a calling. Stall and piss them off.
If he does not sell to the richest guy in the world he will never sell.
Get used to the idea. Ashley for another 30 years. No trophies, no ambition , continual relegation scraps and relegations.
Enjoy the entertaining footy, Ashley and his hoardings. I reckon the student blocks towering over the Gallowgate end might have a good view. They will definitely help reduce the wind and improve the quality of the opposition footy.
