43-year-old Daniel Farke took over as manager of Norwich City in May of 2017 and got them promoted last season.
But with little investment, the East Anglia club are not faring too well in the Premier League, and they are bottom at the moment and 7 points from safety – 5 points behind second-bottom Watford.
But they were the (much) better side at St. James’ Park yesterday in the very dull 0-0 draw with Newcastle putting in one of those woeful performances, and the team was booed off at the end.
If we are going to play well, it should be against teams beneath us in the league – teams we can and should be beating.
Daniel Farke – at yesterday’s game
The classy Farke must have been disappointed with the result, but he put a brave face on things after the game.
He also seems to be a big fan of Steve Bruce, whom he got to know when managing Norwich in the Championship.
This is what Farke said after the game as reported in the Chronicle today:
“In football, there is no right or wrong. There’s not one way when you have to judge and to say football has to work in this way,”
“It’s difficult to compare the clubs when I think about the individual quality up front – Joelinton, [Allan] Saint-Maximin, [Miguel] Almiron – and when I think about the quality Newcastle was able to add during the transfer window.”
“I know [Valentino] Lazaro and [Nabil] Bentaleb from Germany.”
“They are top class players and it’s difficult for us as the only self-funded club at this level who has hardly spent £1m during the whole season to then be competitive.”
“It’s definitely difficult but we try our best. We work with our tools and it’s not up to me to judge other clubs.”
“We have to go out way and it’s always important in football to be effective, especially for young sides.”
“I never judge another team in a disrespectful way. I’m a big fan of Steve Bruce and his management. He’s an experienced guy.”
“You know exactly what you are going to get when you play against Steve’s teams. They always have unbelievable structure and are always unbelievably difficult to break down and create chances against.”
“I was really pleased we created so many chances. We had nearly 20 shots in total and I was pleased with our performance but I would never judge any other team in a disrespectful way.”
“Everything is allowed in football and each and every club and each and every coach has a different approach and I’m full of respect.”
Did I say Newcastle were booed off at full-time yesterday?
And after today’s games, both Arsenal and Burnley – with their 0-0 draw – move above us in the table on goal difference – so we are now 12th – joint 10th is the best way to put it.

We have more than rode our luck and Dubs has been worth 10 points at least, sooner we get to 41 points the better
Ashley won’t sell so we will be stuck with Bruce and 30% possession football

Comment #3Difficult to make chances against?
Was he laughing whilst saying it?
Even Joelinton would’ve scored given that many chances.

I like you and I’m sure one day we’ll meet up for a pint, but the likes of you Munster etc have deserved Steve Bruce, I’m not sure what you expected when you constantly
criticised our former manager for his performances but this is what we have now so you better get used to it.

We got spanked off Leicester, after going down to 10 men for the full second half.
I had said much earlier in the season that Bruce needed to make changes. The football is still poor because of it.
With the squad we have, it would be stupid to move away from 5 at the back. That’s why we improved after changing to this set up last year. The 4 at the back before Rafa switched saw us have the worst start we have had for however long.
If Bruce tried to force change, then I would be more worried about him. We could still play better, attack better and use the ball better. The football is still poor under Bruce, but 5 at the back makes the most sense with this squad.

You’ve fallen in to the same trap as catchy did of your own making. He spent that much time complaining about Pardew he had to get behind McLaren to the point where it was indefensible, you have now found yourself defending Bruce for exactly the same reasons you criticised Rafa. Funny old game.

There isn’t much difference. I’ve been getting used to playing like this for a few years. My criticisms of yesterday are the same as last season and the season before.
Most people are holding up Rafa due to him giving them hope, I have no argument or issue with that. My comments have been purely on the football, tactics, performances. They haven’t changed hugely, hence views on our performances haven’t.
I don’t want Bruce in an ideal world, I didn’t want him in this world last summer. If we got taken over, I would want him replaced. But he is here, and picking up points towards survival while playing poor football. There isn’t anything new to get used to. We survived playing poorly most seasons under Ashley.

Comment #10The fans who turn up to support the team deserve the regime we have
Is the owner worried about the missing 10k season tickets? You bet.
Creates a terrible advert for his tat. Ever known an owner let people in-for free for 6 months?
Empty seats terrify him. Stay away and he will leave.

I take it you aren’t actually reading my posts then? Pretty much all my posts here are criticising Bruce and the football we are playing.
This isn’t an anti Rafa pro Bruce view. It is poor negative, unadventurous football that lacks intent and cohesion. The name of the manager is largely immaterial.

Comment #14Hopefully the latest fakeover will cause another ten thousand reconsider their afternoons.
Imagine 30 K payers and 20 K freebies.
What a fiasco.
It would s a total dysfunctional club anyway.
We wait 14 years to double our transfer record and getJoelinton.
80 million on 3 forwards and the top scorer has two after two thirds of season.
And the selectors are still working at the club.
Total bollix . Clubiis dead from neck up. We all know how it. More life in a coffin

I seriously think you should delete any posts that are more than a year old, they are trawled out of the archives to use as a stick to beat anyone who made a comment they disagree with and whom either regrets it or have had a change of viewpoint.
I do not see the point with most of them, just let them go people they are history and often best forgotten!

Comment #31They won’t stay away because to the MUGS who keep turning up it’s really not the football they go for that puts the fake loyalty thing to bed
I say it again they go for the day out of lager pasties and banter
That’s why they do bugger all to rid us of the regime they are not militant enough like other clubs fans
Most are gormless idiots who p@@@ there wages or benefit money up the wall every match day go home mortal and think about the next time they sit in their shitty little plastic grey seat
Its a fact mist of you will have seen it and still do but won’t admit the truth
The myth about the north east fans football knowledge is a lie
Its proven on this blog day in day out
The same old garbage is spoken you could take the comments written on here from years ago and they would look exactly like the comments that were posted last week
Hot bed of football never existed a few great players we had from here but every team could Say the same some more much more than here
Most of the youngsters who have been unfairly been put on a pedestal before there careers have begun 99% fade away as will the Longstaffs as they are not good enough
IN the 80s we were on a par with man city Chelsea Leeds as big teams
Only money buys titles nothing more The odd team will will defy that
Blackburn liecester but in the main a team who can purchase players for 50 mil time and time again will rule the roost
We are going nowhere survival is the name of the game as it is for the other 14 or so clubs
The remit without a billionaire who will invest is not to get relegated
But even you shouldn’t have to put up with the disgusting football on offer from a manager scared shitless to lose so he doesn’t here the boos that’s why he is playing with these dreadful tactics
But as I have said all along you deserve ASH and managers like BRUCE long may it continue long may you pay your cash and suffer games like you experienced on Saturday
And you will because most of you are anti football
The pub is your football nothing more

How is the club worth more than £340m to Sports direct? That’s a lot of marketing and pr; or do you mean the tens of millions Ashley takes out of NUFC annually to support his other tat shops like HoF, which far from being the Harrods of the high street, are also piled high with tat!

You can take your flags
And your cheap mugs
And your tat
Essentially Ashley uses the advertising to offset rising CPC costs by generating more sales through organic traffic for SDCOM. He used the club almost solely to launch into foreign markets many years ago
Without the club
SDCOM sales drop
And with it it’s value
