Freddie Woodman continued his streak of starting every league match for Swansea this season. However, it was one Swansea fans would like to forget as they lose 3-2 at home to Derby. It was just the third time this season that Freddie and Swansea have conceded more than two goals. Swansea remain in the top ten of the Championship in 9th place.

Jacob Murphy came on in the 70th minute for Fernando Forestieri in Sheffield Wednesday’s 1-1 draw at Barnsley this afternoon. That broke a spell of five straight starts for the 24-year-old. It was his 28th appearance in all competitions since joining the Owls, who are currently 11th in the Championship.

Rolando Aarons was handed his second straight start for Motherwell at St Mirren in the Scottish Cup. Aarons made his debut in a 4-0 defeat to Celtic on Wednesday. Today Rolando lasted until the 72nd minute before being replaced in the 1-1 draw by Allan Campbell. Motherwell remain third in the Scottish Premiership.
Eighteen minutes left. First Motherwell change.

Kelland Watts continues to get game time, making his third straight start for Mansfield Town since joining the club last month. Watts played on the right side of a back three once again as the Stags drew 1-1 at Morecambe this afternoon. A late goal by Morecambe’s Alex Kenyon denies Mansfield the full three points. They still lie in a precarious position, just one place above the relegation zone in League 2.

I’m 100% with you. I honestly think the only hurdle now is safety in the premier league. As soon as the PIF are certain they will have a premier league newcastle next year, then the deal will be completed 🙂

Comment #49Tom I can only remember going to the Crests Club a couple of times. I always went down to Tynemouth. Would drink in Bus man’s club or the Pan Shop club, then taxi down to Tynemouth. The Sovereign Bar. Then down to the Sands Club.

basically she liked a post from a newcastle fan which was talking about the takeover and now since the story broke that she was involved she has unliked it. Seems to me she was probably asked to which I think is a sign of how serious all parties are.

Comment #72I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t jump at the chance to have Benitez back in the summer if the takeover goes through. It would be not only an intelligent move but an emotional one, and in a world where all players and managers seem to follow the highest pay checks, having a tyneside hero rejoin and rebuild us would be amazing and bring back the reason so many of us love football

Comment #79Jamaal. I disagree. If there is a take over wouldn’t you want a fresh start? Fresh beginning of a new era. I’m not a big believer in managers coming back. Of course there have been examples in the past, where it’s worked. But not many. I think a young hungry new manger who plays slick passing football (Benitez never has) should be the vision. I think people’s patience would be tested with Benitez because of his style of play. He will always have somewhat of a legend status. Pochettino or Nagelsmann/ Tuchel I think would suit it better. Anyways probably living in cloud cuckoo….
