Local Lad May Be Playing His Way Into Bruce’s Summer Plans

Newcastle have had a few rocky loan situations with some of our top prospects recently. None more glaring than that of striker Elias Sorensen, who has been recalled early from his two failed loans to Blackpool and Carlisle, respectively.

However, there have been some successes as well. That is particularly the case this season with two Magpies currently out on loan.

Freddie Woodman has been outstanding for Swansea in the Championship as he has gotten the first-team games he needs to develop. The 22-year-old has started every league game for the Swans this season.

There’s also Gateshead-born midfielder Dan Barlaser, who has progressed by leaps over the past few months at Rotherham. Dan has done so well at the League One leaders that the Chronicle think Newcastle will take a long look at the 23-year-old this summer.

Dan ranks up there with some of the top performers in League One statistically. This is what Lee Ryder writes about Dan’s impressive stats for Rotherham:

The reports have shown that Barlaser’s performances are in the top 10 in League One, he is the third-best passer in the division, and his chances created, and interceptions per game are the best in the league.

Indeed, Barlaser is closing in on creating 50 chances opportunities that led to shots for Rotherham this season while also netting twice and making four assists.

At 23, this could be a make or break summer for Barlaser. Steve Bruce should give him every opportunity to prove himself. If he’s not quite ready yet, he could still go out on loan again to a Championship or even a Premier League side next season.

Dan signed a new contract before heading to Rotherham last summer; however, that will expire in 2021. So if he impresses during pre-season, he could get an extension. Even if he needs a little more seasoning on another loan spell, he could still be Newcastle’s plans for the 2021-22 season.

Elias Sørensen although now 20 has big gaps in his game
However every manager since he joined us in 2016 sees
something in him , so I’m sure he’ll come good.

Nope – even his loan managers have said if he upped his work rate
    he’d be top drawer.

Matty’s improved contract will be sorted around the same time as they speak up about the latest takeover falling through to serve as a bit of deflection. No doubt expecting a slap on the back for what should be a routine improvement of wages.

Miguel Almiron £21m (Jan out of Summer budget)
    Emil Krafth £5M
    Joelinton £40m
    Allan Saint Maximin £22m
    Loan players £10m

That’s the thick end of £100m

I want SAorensen to prove me wrong, but he struggled in the cup game against them down the road last(?) season. I thought it was just that he had not played against senior players at a certain level before, but it would seem that he may be to comfortable in the Academy squad.

    BSIB
Tax fraud, ‘creaming off money’ and hiding income are serious offences especially when the sums are large, as they would be with NUFC and SD.
That’s what you are accusing MA of being involved in.
(Accountants aren’t paid to get involved in that)

The audit watchdog levied almost three times more sanctions against UK accountants last year than in the previous year, as it attempted to combat accusations that it has been too lenient. The Financial Reporting Council, which is to be replaced by a more powerful statutory regulator called the Audit, Reporting and Governance Authority, issued £43m of fines in 2018, up from £15.5m the year before. The figures do not include discounts awarded for settlements; when factored in they reduced the fines to £32m last year and £13m in 2017. The number of fines imposed by the FRC rose from 11 to 27, among them a series of record penalties against Big Four auditors, including a £10m fine — reduced to £6.5m after a settlement — against PwC for misconduct in its audit of department store chain BHS. The watchdog opened 15 investigations last year, one more than in the previous year, and closed 13 of its cases, four more than in 2017.

Sports Direct FC is a shambles from top to bottom. As far as the parasite and his cohorts are concerned though it’s paradise.Another £30 million of the clubs money has disappeared into the slugs pockets never to be seen again whilst the debt remains the same.Theres no chance of him selling the club because it’s his favourite cash cow and he loves to milk it.The whole thing stinks and as long as there is a full house to help advertise his tat shop empire nothing will change.

Could anybody tell me if anybody ie magpie group has actually been able to look over the books by an actual audit/accountant when MA has actually said anybody can and he would even pay for them to do so?

Now if this answer is no, then Bills son etc can you answer why after all of this time that nobody has Ben able to forensically examine the books etc? I only ask as you seem to defend MA at every chance and get upset if anybody uses insulting terms towards him and therefore have the inside track on him.

    “Thick end of £100 million”
You are joking; Almiron was signed on a bank loan to the club! If we paid £40 million for Joelinton then 20 probably went to another source. Ashley would never pay £40 million for an unknown that nobody else wanted. If so, an advisor would’ve been sacked by now!
Your repeated support for Ashley is pathetic! No one believes anything you post unless it’s copied on a link or Googled!

Surely The reuben brothers and the Arabs would of heard that they are linked with buying the club and respond. Having said that, Stavely does,nt exactly fill me with confidence after the last farce she was involved in.

dougie I get what you’re saying. In these times of lucrative tv money etc we as a club are using paddling pools and wheelie bins due to lack of major investment in the training facilities, let alone this whole brand new state of the art facilities to rival any in Europe project.

I’d love to get excited about nufc again however that won’t ever change until MA has left. Nor will the club move forwards until he has left.

Ashley owns the club lock, stock and barrel, but he doesn’t admit he moves money around between companies. It’s the constant lies (“every penny”), and lack of information to the fans from him or his pet chimp that is annoying!
I did notice he wasn’t wearing his black and white tie at Oxford. Clutching at straws but any significance?
