Bruce Confirms It’s A Week Too Soon For Most Injured Magpies

Steve Bruce has given his press conference this morning. He provided the following updates on injuries.

It looks like Dwight Gayle and Yoshinori Muto are back training but still may not be available for the trip to Arsenal on Sunday. We also saw Javier Manquillo in Wednesday’s training images do some work on the grass so he could be back to full training soon.

Both Andy Carroll and Jonjo Shelvey are still out with their injuries. It’s a concern for Big Andy as he’s been out since the Rochdale replay and still looks a ways off from coming back.

The Chronicle’s Ciaran Kelly tweeted the following about the Geordie striker.

Bruce had hoped for several players to return for Sunday’s match, but it looks like it’s a week too soon for most, if not all, of them. Thankfully, our three new boys are fit and will be raring to be involved.

What Will Be The Result At Arsenal On Sunday?

  • Loss (44%, 1,119 )
  • Draw (29%, 735 )
  • Win (27%, 694 )

Geordietom………….Have you tried toad in the hole? It’s really very nice.
The best way to prepare it is to part cook your bangers then put them in the oven with a little oil. When the oil is nice and hot pour your Yorkshire pudding batter over the sausages and whack em in the oven until the batter rises up and becomes brown and crispy.

Best served with a glass or two of a robust red wine such as Rioja or Mouton Cadet. Give it a go it’s yummy.

Geordietom……….. Sounds like the classic Boeuf Bourgignon. I enjoy it with a gratin dish such as pommes de terre dauphinois and some buttered spinach.

Hobbit………… He’s knackered. No point wasting more time and money on him now getting hip replacements done. It’ll be something else next and unless we make him totally bionic he’s not worth the myther.
He needs off ter’t glue factory to be rendered down and put out of his misery.

i said yesterday if Bruce is so keen to have him round the club give him a coaching job,
but take the shirt off him, complete waste of a slot in the squad and definitely no new playing contract ,

I just wish Bruce would actually send us out to be aggressive winning the ball back Norwich were there for the taking and we just let Hanley stroll about passing the ball…..

Whatever folk say about Rafa’s tactics (even though we created miles more chances from open play under him) we were always aggressive in winning the ball back its pretty much the same players but we just seem far too passive

Arsenal is another example of this they are very much there for the taking but will we just let them pass it about and stroll to a 2 or 3 nil victory or make it difficult , press in numbers and attack that dodgy defence?

If Joelinton, Muto , Carroll, Gayle are not match fit and Almiron is still a bit fatigued I would give Allan a go in an attacking position hes rapid , scores goals and with the high line Arsenal play he would get in behind a few times

Dave D ……….. There are so many wide and varied recipes on what to do with mince I can’t list them all on here. One of my favourites however is a traditional meat loaf.
Take the minced beef and add a little minced pork to it, then sweat down some diced onions, red and green peppers, celery and finely diced carrot. When cool add to the mince and mix in some crushed oats to soak up the moisture , an egg and then season with salt pepper and a little nutmeg. Form into a loaf shape on a baking tray and cook in the oven until nicely brown.
Best served with mashed potatoes and a red wine gravy and washed down with a good Malbec.
