Willems Issues Promising Message As He Returns To Newcastle’s Training Ground

Jetro Willems has issued the following message to Newcastle fans thanking them for all the well wishes he has received after suffering his knee injury last month.

We certainly hope that Jetro has a future at Newcastle. It was looking like a foregone conclusion that his purchase option would be triggered until his terrible injury against Chelsea.

It is very promising that it looks like he has returned to Newcastle’s training ground this morning. He tweeted the following clip earlier today.

Willems made 20 appearances for the Magpies this season with two terrific goals both struck from his weaker right foot. He also added two assists.

Let’s hope Jetro has a successful and speedy recovery and is again a Magpie by the time next season starts in August.

Been away a few days, shouldn’t be surprised that the childish playground stuff still dominates the comments section.

    geordietom,
I will if you can slightly improve your patter. I’m not talking a major upgrade, just a little bit more quality if you would.

Great to see Jetro back at NUFC. I’d thought he’d been sent back to his club, if they’re trusting us with his rehab then it suggests he’s going to be a NUFC player long term.

Really good news. I’d like both him and Danny Rose at NUFC next season, would give us such strength in depth.

On players and contracts. How many in the Ashley era have been given new improved deals. Off the top of my head I can think of Dubs straight away. Lascelles because he was signed on peanuts as was Tiote. Williamson must have been given an extension as Dummet and Krul, they kept giving Collo extensions because they didn’t have a hope of getting a fee for him and he would have cost money to replace, any others?

The running of NUFC under MA is shoddy at best. We ramp ourselves up on false hope but in reality we are just waiting for the next negative curve ball to appear.

Takeover on Sunday someone heard? More likely that nothing will materialise and just when we think it can’t get any worse it will – MA will pull some blunder out of the bag that most people would find impossible.

Can’t see an end to this anytime soon but desperately hope that I am wrong!

Sunday at least will bring us some football to watch and will let us hope……..hope that we turn up and get some luck that will help us manage to get a result against a team that will more likely beat us by a single goal.

Hoping for new deals for a crocked loan player and AC is the level MA’s NUFC is at.

Really wish someone would relieve us of this careless owner (at best) / horrible bully but these endless fakeover stories are really getting stretched now.

MA is an enigma shrouded in lies, deception and neglect.

i would take a point now and count it as one more step towards safety, and hopefully a takeover, because i firmly believe nowt will happen till we’re mathematically safe.
till then we’re stuck with Ashley

Not sure Gayle has Jib or Clark, they were both signed on five year deals and they expire next year.

Ron Knee – my favourite Dylan lyric is fro Positively 4th Street:

Yes, I wish that for just one time you could stand inside my shoes
You’d know what a drag it is to see you.

I wonder if they handle contracts the same as transfers.

    Player wants £30k

Offer them £8k and increase by £1k every week until they agree or say sod off.

Carrol will probably be the same player. Afterall he cant get any slower and unless he shrinks he will still have his one asset – heading.

    droppy,
That’s why I asked the question, imo they don’t like giving out new deals as the idea is to sell before they have to. The most players we’ve seen been given new deals are those that have been signed on peanuts and not really established yet.

For example Rob Elliott, signed for half a million from third division Charlton, he’d have been on 5K a week so very easy to make him a very decent offer to stay, the same with Perez and Lascelles. When they going to offer Hayden 70K a week which he knows he’ll get at Brighton, Shelvey is another. Matty Longstaff comes from a sports savvy family and if true that Watford have offered him 30K a week do we stick or bust.

    Jib,
Was that not a complication in his loan move, he demanded 10K more to go to WBA, improved terms means a contract extension not just more money for the sake of it.
