Freddie Woodman was in goal again for Swansea as they traveled to the KCOM Stadium to take on Hull City this evening. It was a great game if you love goals, but not so much if your primary interest was cheering for Freddie. The game ended with a share of the spoils at 4-4 in a goal bonanza. Tom Eaves bagged an equalizer for Hull City in the fifth minute of stoppage time to deny the Swans.

Woodman and the Swans defense had a very rough night, and it started early. In the sixth minute, Hull City’s Leonardo da Silva easily beat the 22-year-old at his near post. Freddie should have done much better on that one. The other three goals, including a first for former Magpie Marcus Maddison since joining Hully City last month, were more a result of poor defending.
Here is a highlight video of the goals.

Comment #2Jail and I don’t always agree, but the below is just a strange attempt to belittle him;
Jail,
You really make me laugh.
You go on and on and on about Ashley being a tight greedy barsteward and then say there are a load of players who he’ll let go on free transfers because he won’t offer them a new contract.
Which one is it?
Yes, you can argue letting them go for free is not being tight, and Ashley cutting losses. You could also argue it is Ashley refusing to pay the going rate and being happy to allow them to leave because he would rather gamble on a cheaper option instead of offering big wages?
Both Colback and Saivet offered to leave ladt summer at a reduced pay off than what they were owed. The club countered their offers with an even lower pay off, which both rejected. Is that the club being tight, cutting nose off to spite, or players being greedy? Or a little column a/b/c.
Ashley isn’t tight, Joelinton proves that. He will spend when he believes it is of benefit to him

“Ashley isn’t tight, Joelinton proves that. He will spend when he believes it is of benefit to him.”
Not trying to be smarmy or argumentative…..but I’m struggling to understand what benefit joelinton (as a signing / spending of money) is to Ashley?

Club didnt make any comment or statement
If they dont acknowledge this in any way they have shown, yet again , a total lack of communication with the fans
They are proving , if it was ever needed, that yet again they just dont care in any way
Its shameful, an insult to the entire region .
To football itself

Not sure how you construe my post as supporting my mate ‘Mikey’.
NY,
I have no evidence to support the claim Joelinton was beneficial to Ashley. Probably didn’tt phrase it well, but that was more in support of him not being tight. However, I can’t see the logic of 40mill on Joelinton, compared with other transfers, that appear/have proven to be better value. It seems out of character and unusual, so there are natural suspicioms based on his ownership and record.

At least people would know how things stand
As it is the only thing the club tells prople is when matches are and how much tickets cost
Theres an utter vacuum where a football club should be, over the years its gotten worse
They wonder why people protest ?
How else to you think we might find stuff out ?
Break in and look for ourselves , hold people hostage ?
How do you think we might find out ?

There is a decent player in Joelinton, but just not how we are having to use him. Ignore goals, look at key passes, chances created, he is one of our most consistent.
McClaren comparing him with Mitro, and the need for a senior figure was fairly close, but I think Joe’s situation is closer to Tommasson who got chucked in the deep end whem Shearer got injured. After failing as a main striker with us, he proved himself a very good second/support striker over the rest of his career and collected a good haul of trophies/medals.
Joe needs someone to play off, it will get him assists, and more goals. £40million’s worth, and gauged against what we needed, probably not, but he gets a rough deal because he has been dropped in it.

Comment #33Yes it happened when we played Man United and Andy Cole was playing.this bloke in front of me stood the whole match racially abusing Andy. Of course I was the only one who stood up to him, plus I couldn’t watch the match. And my daughter was quite young. The police had been watching on camera, who would have known. Second half they came and dragged the idiot out by his hair. But the police asked me to make a statement. In the lovely new police cell. Ha ha been every where.

Comment #40I think Joelenton really does have the makings of a top centre forward, and simply isn’t quite there yet due to his inexperience in the role, age and also very much because of the way we set up.
Needs to be given time, and needs more players in and around him, just as the side needs more quality and pace allowing us to open up.
