Report – Newcastle To Scout Norwegian Striker In Turkey

There is a report from Turkish outlet Fotospor that Newcastle will scout Trabzonspor striker Alexander Sorloth this weekend. The Norwegian international is on a year-long loan from Crystal Palace.

Trabzonspor is expected to trigger the 24-year-old’s purchase clause. It’s reportedly a €6m obligation to buy if he plays in 50% of the team’s matches. He’s already scored an impressive 22 goals in all competitions for the Turkish club.

Sorloth joined Crystal Palace two Januaries ago from the Danish club Midtjylland for £9m. He failed to have an impact at Selhurst Park, scoring just one goal in his 20 appearances, though only 4 were starts with two of those on the left-wing.

Sorloth rose through the Rosenborg Academy but made just 10 first-team appearances before moving to Groningen in the Eredivisie in 2016 for a small fee. He scored just 6 goals in his 18 months in the Netherlands before moving to Denmark.

It was at Midtjylland that he found his first rich vein of form, scoring 15 goals with 9 assists in his only season before securing his lucrative move to Crystal Palace.

He’s been on loan twice since joining the Eagles spending the latter half of last season with Gent in Belgium. Crystal Palace reportedly tried to recall Sorloth from his loan recently, however the terms of the deal allowed Trabzonspor to prevent that.

Monaco and Brighton will also be sending scouts to watch Sorloth this weekend.

    Moonraker

I haven’t read anything on it, i heard/saw on tv.

Wasn’t really paying attention, may have been “dropped the fine”.

Once they said good news for Ashley I switched off

Just seemed over the way it was being reported, as i said wasn’t paying that much attention.

That’s why I brought it up along with the audit.

Ha ha yeah munster says he doesn’t play to the crowd. That was funny. Almost as funny as his legendary wit – I mean Tarquin, eh? Absolute genius. Taliban eh? My sides!

    Diss Rafa ?
I stressed that’s not what I was doing
Just pointing out our problems winning two halves of a game
Which is emphasising Ashley’s parsimony over time

No matter whether you blame Fernandez or not, it doesn’t alter the fact Lazzaro was closest.

He had ALREADY taken the player as his responsibility before Fernandez pointed.

He was also on the wrong side of his man and made no effort to challenge.

Poor positional play, that’s a team trait though.

TBH he looks a winger, I thought we got him as a winger and although he looked good going foward he didn’t look comfortable in the position off the ball.

Geordietom…….,, You seem adamant that this takeover is actually going ahead . Is there anything that you’ve heard that you’re not telling us about. Don’t hold it back if there is something. That wouldn’t be fair.

John Crace (Grauniad sketch writer and Spurs fan)

“Very much looking forward to Spurs playing the rest of the season with no striker. Who could have predicted that some players might get injured? Back to the long ball upfield… to absolutely no one.”

    Sounds familiar.

Lesh I answered your question once and won’t be answering it again. If you don’t wish to listen, like 20 or so halfwits here, its really not my issue. We all know where the central problem lies. If it makes you feel better, keep repeating it. Good man.

I’d imagine fairly few of the Miseries had anything good to say in the first half when we looked good. By all means slate the second half, it was deserved. But many on here can’t bring themselves to say anything good. Probably because a halfwit in an attic will call them Ashley lovers. Seriously some guys here need to get some balance and say something good if it’s there, and bad when it’s obvious too.

But munster half games don’t win anything. Doesn’t matter how fantastic we were for a while, it’s the 4-0 romping that does for us. What good stuff you got to say about that?

I do think we will stay up, a lot less confident than I have been for a couple of years.

First half the other day we were much improved but the same ridiculous decision making ultimately cost us. Wasting £30-40m on a lad to play out of position and without support due to abysmal tactics further hindered by not buying any kind of goal threat in the window.
