Bentaleb, Rose, And Schar Get Starts At Crystal Palace

This is the team Steve Bruce has chosen to face Crystal Palace this afternoon. It has just one change from the loss at Arsenal with Fabian Schar coming in for the injured Ciaran Clark.

As expected, Joelinton makes the starting eleven despite his thigh problem. Dwight Gayle makes his return to the bench after recovering from his hamstring injury.

We’re a little surprised that Bruce hasn’t rotated more. He has allowed the lads from last weekend to redeem themselves this afternoon.

Roy Hodgson has selected the following side for the hosts.

The lads must show a reaction today from the second-half collapse at the Emirates. A result is a must to avoid the start of a losing streak at this critical point in the season.

Really all three points should be the aim with Crystal Palace struggling without a win in 2020. With a run of favorable fixtures on the horizon, Newcastle can start that off brilliantly with a victory this afternoon.

Howay The Lads!

Just wish we would put ASM up front with Joe and Miggy in behind as the 10.

That would force Brucey to push the wingbacks forward as there would be no other width – having ASm and miggy wide means they full backs dont have to push into midfield.

Can’t just throw Gayle in without getting him up to speed though. Give him a run second half and hope he scores.

I’ve seen a few people talk about todays game being at home. I think it’s because the last one was away.

I guess we will find out today if Lazaro is worth the reported £20 million. He looks to have the pace to keep up with Zaha.

If Bruce drops Lazaro some misery like Jail or Rotunda or Lesh will accuse him of lack of patience with his new man. What a bunch .

C.Palace are going to play 4141 dominate midfield and move the ball quickly round the WBs in the hope of playing the ball onto a late arriving player in the box.

Jail, I didn’t notice the FF world rankings before, but just had a look. Overall Rank: 83,788 Total Players: 7,426,619.

I am expecting to come crashing back down to earth this week. Too many of my players are up against strong sides this week.

I was looking forward to seeing if Gayle would change the dynamic and breathe a bit of fresh air into the team. Hopefully Miss Marple doesn’t wait until the 85th minute you introduce him.

Give Joe a break from the pressure and give them a half each I say.

Also prefer to see Hayden in place of Bentaleb. But hey hum if it ain’t broke don’t…

Cant see us scoring any with that set up. As for bruce changing it. – he only reacts (and normally too layte) good managers make changes to alter games not stop the opposition

I dropped ten thousand places last week and my score wasn’t terrible, in fact it was bang on average. It’s a shame that there are so many players with lots of different teams. Like you’ll see a Friday night game with six players from those two teams, there’s no way that’s somebody’s team. They’ll have loads of different teams with different players on a triple captain. Makes it almost impossible for a real team to get GW top score
