There is an exclusive report in 90min that Newcastle are tracking Alkmaar forward Myron Boadu for a potential summer move.
The 19-year-old has been on fire this season for the Dutch side, scoring an astonishing 19 goals in his 35 appearances. All of his goals have come in both the Eredivisie and Europa League competitions. Badou has also added 13 assists even though he’s only been deployed only as a striker this season.
Despite just turning 19 last month, Boadu broke into the Alkmaar first team last season. However, he was limited by a serious ankle injury that saw him miss seven months of the season. He ended up making just 8 appearances with 3 goals.
Myron Boadu– prolific 19-year-old on Newcastle’s radar
Injuries, unfortunately, have been proven to be a problem for the youngster. He also missed almost all of the 2017-18 season with a knee injury.
However, this season has been a breakout year for Boadu. He received his first cap for the Netherlands in November in a European Qualifier against Estonia, in which he bagged a goal on his international debut.
AZ Alkmaar are currently second in the Eredivisie pushing for a run at the Champions League but also clinging to an outside shot at winning the league. A lot of their success has to do with Boadu’s prowess in front of the net.
While no fee is mentioned in the report, we would suspect that Alkmaar would demand a fee over the £20m mark. He signed an extension to 2023 last summer and Arsenal are also said to be tracking him. However, he looks like a real prospect, and having just turned 19 has a bright future ahead of him.

Should we have another countdown to possible signings in the Summer window.

Comment #6Wouldn’t mind betting now that ASM is sold for around £60m plus in the Summer window.

Comment #8Well, it looks as though yesterday’s shambles (is that the right word Jib, or do you want to find another coarse alternative?) has killed off any good feelings about NUFC.
Ashley’s not too far away from taking the life out of a once proud club and its many loyal and long-suffering fans.
