Report – Premier League Club Identify Magpie As Potential Replacement For £70m-Rated Winger

Once again on Saturday, Allan Saint-Maximin tried desperately to create a moment of magic to get the stagnant Newcastle attack going. The Frenchman was one of only a few Magpies to show any urgency going forward in the second half.

While not much worked in the end for the 22-year-old, the impetus to get forward and try to get something to happen was at least endearing to some.

It’ll come as little surprise that there are now reports circulating of outside interest in Newcastle’s electric winger. The Daily Mail are claiming that Wolves have Allan Saint-Maximin listed as a potential replacement for Adama Traore.

There is expected to be a bidding war for the 24-year-old, who Wolves value at around £70m, with both Real Madrid and Barcelona reported to be interested.

If one of La Liga’s giants poach the Spanish winger this summer, Newcastle could have to fend off interest from Wolves in our star player.

Saint-Maximin, by all accounts, seems to love it at Newcastle. However, he has to be frustrated with the style of play currently on display at Newcastle.

Allan did sign a six-year deal when he joined this past summer for £16m from Nice. So Wolves would have to stump up quite a fee to prise him away just a year later.

We just don’t even want to think about losing Saint-Maximin after only one year. Hopefully, this team can find some answers in the final third and end this season on some sort of high. If they do, it’ll likely come through the exploits of our French winger.

Who Was Newcastle's Best Player At Crystal Palace?

  • Martin Dubravka (79%, 1,121 )
  • A. Saint-Maximin (9%, 133 )
  • Valentino Lazaro (3%, 45 )
  • Joelinton (2%, 30 )
  • Dwight Gayle (1%, 19 )
  • Fabian Schar (1%, 15 )
  • Miguel Almiron (1%, 13 )
  • Sean Longstaff (1%, 10 )
  • Federico Fernandez (1%, 9 )
  • Matt Ritchie (1%, 9 )
  • Nabil Bentaleb (0%, 6 )
  • Danny Rose (0%, 5 )
  • Jamaal Lascelles (0%, 4 )

I believe that there would be at least 60m available every season if we stay in the PL. Even working under the constraints of Ashley and his transfer policy of buying potential rather than proven I think a half decent manager could improve us year on year. Ultimately I want Ashley gone but surely we can get someone in to manage the team effectively and build. Rafa isn’t the only one capable of doing this!

    Serious question.

Has anything any of you have seen Ashley do suggests he wants the club to improve year on year?

    Anything?

OP why wouldn’t he? If he doesn’t need to invest massive sums of money why wouldn’t he want to increase the clubs value and exposure with cups, Europe etc. Its stupid to think Ashley wants us to fail or just scrape staying in the league every year. You think he wants to see all his money flushed away if we fall into the Champo etc.

    Nufc-83,
What bit don’t you get. It’s been footin spelled out for you man. They had to go as far down the list as Bruce to get someone stupid enough to put up with their policies. They’re only going to get Championship managers desperate for one last undeserved chance in the PL.

What more do you expect when Steve Bruce is our manager? Mike Ashley is our owner? Joelinton is our main striker? Come on fellas does that sound like a recipe for success to you?

Problem with Ashley is he won’t invest in the club and he makes idiotic football decisions or at least hires people who do such as Charnley. I have no idea how he is so rich as I can’t see how anyone with an adequate amount of brain cells can not surround the club with better people.

Jail are you thick or follow football at all outside of Newcastle? Just because Ashley/Charnley etc decide to go for these useless managers does not mean there is nothing else available who would jump at the chance to come to Newcastle. Do you think I’m taking about the likes of Pochetino etc??

    I’ve asked the question.

    What has he done?

    What strategy has he implemented?

    What foundations has he laid?

Don’t say it’s stupid or why wouldn’t he, answer the question, if you can’t is it so stupid?

Jail if anyone with any knowledge of football put the list together it wouldn’t look at all like Charnley’s list. You think anyone in their right mind would have Fat Sam and Bruce on a list!!

Jail,I mean a new manager would get a new manager bounce so even if we employed another crap dinosaur wed get at least one win which would probably be enough to guarentee another season.

our players have lost that extra 10% Rafa coached into them as well as the belief they would have got playing for a respected manager as well as the organisation hed drilled into them.

Wheres the training ground the club was promised?

Why aren’t the current facilities maintained?

Why do we have so many players on loan?

Why are so many out of contract in under 18 months?

If the club can wipe it’s own feet why has the club debt doubled?

There is no sign of anything improving year on year that I can see.

They also made sure in the end he was shown the door

Although Ashley will not deliberately want to damage one of his major assets, he has consistently attempted to do it his own way with largely detrimental outcomes.
