Some Winnable Games Coming Up – If We Can Score Some Goals

We play West Brom away tomorrow night in the 5th round of the FA Cup, and there must be a result tomorrow.

It’s an excellent opportunity for Newcastle to reach the quarter-finals, but right now we are more worried about our league position.

Two of the bottom three clubs, Watford and Norwich beat two of the top three clubs Liverpool and Leicester, over the weekend.

So we are now 5 points above the drop zone and haven’t scored a goal in our previous four league games.

11Southampton38-952
12Everton38-1249
13Newcastle38-2044
14Crystal Palace38-1943
15Brighton38-1541
16West Ham38-1339

The decision not to bring in a striker in January now looks almost suicidal – surely, there was somebody out there who could have improved on what we have?

But that was not the case, according to Steve Bruce – shown above

So it seems we are being dragged into yet another relegation scrap – the 5th in succession in the Premier League.

It’s so dull and crushes any hope supporters have for a decent season in the Premier League, one without the anxiety of yet another possible relegation.

Mike Ashley says the club is well run – that may be true, but we have a mediocre team.

Here are the upcoming fixtures, and we need 8 points to get to what should be safety on 40 points.

Can we do that?

Wins are huge, but we have to take draws if that’s the way we can scrape to safety.

And then what – another relegation fighting season is probable next term unless somebody comes in and buys the club.

That’s what we are hoping for and miracles are possible.

All this sucks at the moment – but I’m repeating myself.

What Will Be The Result Against West Brom In The FA Cup?

  • Loss (56%, 776 )
  • Win (44%, 608 )

I think France has already banned crowds over 5000. From our perspective I wouldnt mind playing Southampton behind closed doors. We never win down there and I think because theyre safe (almost) with nuetral support they will be there for the taking with our new formation.
