Newcastle Draw Manchester City At Home In The Sixth Round Of The FA Cup

Newcastle United have drawn Manchester City at St James Park in the Sixth Round of The FA Cup.

Manchester City defeated Jacob Murphy and Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 this evening to advance to the quarter-finals.

Newcastle, of course, knocked out West Brom at the Hawthorns last night 3-2. This is a tough draw but with the teams remaining it was never going to be easy.

However, we played quite well against Manchester City in our 2-2 draw at the end of November. The match is tentatively scheduled for the 21st of March which will means our fixture against Aston Villa will have to be rescheduled.

Steve Bruce should once again field a strong side. A win against Manchester City in less than three weeks means we’ll have a trip to Wembley for the semi-finals.

Norwich beat Tottenham on penalties 3-2 after full-time and extra time finished 1-1.

Former Newcastle goalkeeper saved two penalties in the shootout.

FA Cup draw in full:

Sheffield United v Arsenal
Newcastle United v Manchester City
Norwich City v Derby County/Manchester United
Leicester City v Chelsea

Rough draw but at least at home. Bruce deserves it for having the balls to play strong teams since the start.

We had to play a bigger team at some point. Imagine getting them in the final instead. I totally believe we can beat them.

Our easier draws have inevitably come to an end but all we can do is give it ago.
At least we have a home draw.
Come on lads do us proud!

Big responsibility that Droppy. My brother just text, he wants to go so that’s sorted unfortunately. Unless he drops out at the last moment. Tbh, she doesn’t really like football or I’d take her every game. She’s happy he’s going!

I remember we knocked them out of the league cup 2 nowt in 2024 and that was against the odds (obertan was playing even riviere got a run out ha ha). Don’t think we will do it this time i doubt city will think this one is expendable now champs league is off the cheeseboard.

Sorry that was a spoiler there I came back in time and told you a result four years hence. Temporal law says you’re not allowed to put a grand bet on that though so don’t bother ha ha

    2014 I obviously meant.

Tim Krul is one of the best penalty savers in the World. Was brought on by the Dutch specifically for a shoot out in a major tournament, got them through to the next round. Was never in doubt that he’d do the same for Spurs.

    Good on him.

St James’ will be a full house for an FA Cup tie for the first time in years, the lads will be well up for it and Man City will come at us. They can’t win the League, they’ll want to win the Cup.

    Could be a great occasion.

“which will means our fixture against Aston Villa will have to be rescheduled.”

Villa have also got to re-schedule their match against Sheffield Utd because of the Carabao cup.
