During Steve Bruce’s press conference this morning he was asked about the condition of Allan Saint-Maximin after playing for 80 minutes against West Brom on Tuesday.
This is what Bruce said about Allan as well as Javier Manquillo, who has played ninety minutes in the last two games after returning from his hamstring injury.
“Allan is ok. He seemed bright yesterday. We think he’s going to be ok. That goes for them all. Manquillo was sore yesterday. We’ll see how he is.
“Everybody’s come through. As long as they get through today.”
We would expect both to start tomorrow, barring any issues during today’s session.
Newcastle released some images of yesterday’s training, and many pictures showed a happy squad after advancing in the FA Cup.
We saw Allan in a few of the photos but didn’t spot Javier in any of them, so he may have been rested yesterday.
Back to Premier League action. ?

Christian Atsu has returned to training after a recent illness kept him out of contention for the last two matches.
Emil Krafth is also still involved in training. His return will give Bruce three options at right back; however, it looks as though Manquillo is the clear number one at the moment.
Unfortunately, there was no Andy Carroll sighting as he continues to struggle with the injury that has kept him out of action for almost two full months now.
He’s only played 40 minutes of football in 2020, and his prolonged absence has been very disappointing.
However, with Dwight Gayle and Yoshinori Muto back fit, Bruce still has three options to spearhead the attack.
Overall, the injury situation has steadily improved, with just Ciaran Clark and Carroll not available for selection.
