Newcastle are coming off the back of two massive wins, which has stretched a fledgling unbeaten run to three games. On Saturday, we’ll host one of the season’s surprise teams in Sheffield United. The newly-promoted side sit 7th in the table on 43 points with a game in hand on Newcastle.
They are unbeaten in their previous six matches, including two FA Cup wins. The Blades will play Arsenal at home in the quarter-finals next week.
The Magpies traveled to Bramall Lane in December and eeked out a 2-0 win on goals by Allan Saint-Maximin and Jonjo Shelvey. But it was Martin Dubravka who was the hero on that night.
This time around, we’ll be without our Slovakian shot-stopper for the first time since his debut over two years ago. It’ll be Karl Darlow, who gets the call at St James Park on Saturday.
Dubravka will join Andy Carroll and Ciaran Clark on the sidelines for this one. Though Bruce still has plenty of options and it’ll be interesting to see who gets the nod this weekend.
