Are Newcastle Still Interested In Austrian Midfielder?

Late last month a report from German outlet Bild claimed that both Newcastle and Southampton were very interested in Hoffenheim’s Florian Grillitsch.

The Austrian international has also been linked to both Tottenham and Arsenal in the past year. He’s had an outstanding season in the Bundesliga and could be worth much more than his €25m release clause.

Grillitsch fits the type of player Bruce is coveting for his midfield. He’s creative, can win the ball, holds on to it well, and is adventurous when pushing forward from the midfield. He’s also got that natural composure where he makes it look so easy.

He’ll turn 25 in August and has been at Hoffenheim for three years. So he could be reaching the point where he’s ready to take his next step.

Grillitsch is an international teammate of Valentino Lazaro, who will hopefully stay at Newcastle beyond this year. The midfielder also spent last season at Hoffenheim playing with Joelinton.

Newcastle are reportedly still trying to tempt Lille’s Boubakary Soumare to Tyneside. However, after turning us down in January, the Frenchman now has attracted the likes of Liverpool and Barcelona.

So if Soumare becomes an impossibility, we think Florian Grillitsch could be a decent option for close to half the price.

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency says that MOT tests for cars must still go ahead. Daft.

    Neil,
First to your question. No, nobody is interested in anyone now mate, it’s about survival at this moment, at least financial.

    Now, Ed,
You say the PL this season is over, possibly, yes. The only other alternative is, tournament style, closed doors, say July August.

But then you mention windows and all that. I doubt those dates will hold. They’ll be shifted.

So, what happens to next year? December start, maybe?

Nobody knows. Last time we had this is 500 years ago! Not sure if the season was cancelled then.

But, people will eventually need to get back to work in order to get paid, bit by bit, super careful, social distancing will finally be understood, etc. There will be another season. Liverpool will still have a chance of some day winning a PL title. Newcastle will still have a chance of a cup 🙂

Seems ok in these terrible times of the virus.
Few unroadworthy vehicles ploughing into your family members and killing them.

    Yeh that seems ok.

I would imagine the number of times a MOT test actually
found a car that was on the point of veering off the road
and ploughing into pedestrians is miniscule.

They should MOT the owners rather than the cars, we’d get a lot less idiots on the road – the amount of carnage I see in my rear view mirror is unbelievable !
