Are Newcastle Still Interested In Bundesliga Star?

Newcastle were linked with Augsburg wing-back Philipp Max last summer along with top clubs like Liverpool and Barcelona.

Max ended up staying at Augsburg despite the interest, and Newcastle eventually brought in Jetro Willems from Frankfurt on loan.

The 26-year-old has had another outstanding season for the struggling Bavarian club. So far, he’s scored seven goals with 5 assists playing either as a left back or left winger in Augsburg’s 4-4-2 system.

Last season, the German chipped in with 4 goals and 7 assists. In total, Max has 14 goals with 28 assists since he joined Augsburg from Karlsruher in 2015.

His contract runs until 2022, so he will have two years remaining after this season. After his stellar performances for Augsburg, he could be primed to make a big move.

Augsburg are currently in the 14th spot in the Bundesliga after finishing 15th last season. With increasing interest in the player, they could find it hard to sign him up to an extension.

Max was reportedly available for £18m last summer. So for around that amount, he would be a valuable addition to Newcastle’s squad. He could fill a need at left-back as well as further forward on the wing.

Newcastle are reportedly looking to bring in another wide forward this summer and will also need a left-back who can play in a back four.

Which On Loan Left Back Should Newcastle Pursue This Summer?

  • Jetro Willems (52%, 600 )
  • Both (28%, 318 )
  • Neither (12%, 137 )
  • Danny Rose (8%, 95 )

Sean and Matty are apparently in the process of sorting new agents for themselves with an eye to getting their futures sorted once and for all

So can anyone confirm has Ashley actually taken money out for your season tickets for next season?

How is this possible? Surely money would still to be paid for the season that we are on first? Or do people pay a one off?

He’s such a conman Piers really went in on him and it was good to see more people need to give him it tight

February is the last payment for the current season, from March onward you start paying for the next season. Unless I’m wrong and it’s March last then from April. Whatever it means this season is totally paid up now all payments are for 20-21

I think all season ticket holders should email the league with complaints about this money taken out of peoples bank accounts for a season not even considered playing yet, we all know this season will be null and void so what right does the swamp garbage creature have on taking money without a service am sure this breaks all the rules, I blame the banks as well for this
