Ashley Shows His True Colors – Blasted By Famous Broadcaster

We had an article out yesterday from Neil where Mike Ashley tried to say that his business – selling sports equipment – was essential and should not be shut down becasue of that.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson had put a three-week lockdown in place, and everybody had to stay at home unless it was absolutely necessary.

And the selfish, self-centered billionaire was given short shrift on that.

Cabinet Office minister Michael Gove went on ITV’s Good Morning Britain yesterday and had the following to say about Ashley’s claim.

“My view is that Mike Ashley should rescind what he said. He should back off. The key thing we need to do is make sure people wherever possible stay at home.

“Yes it’s important people exercise but that should be done once a day and it’s a basic thing.

“People can walk, run or cycle, they should, but there is no reason for a store like Sports Direct to remain open.”

And today famous broadcaster Piers Morgan has blasted Mike Ashley for that action.

Here’s a tweet from Steve Wraith that has Piers Morgan’s comments – and Piers doesn’t hold back – as per usual.

Maybe people will now realize the type of person we have running our club – everything he does is for his own good and he seems not to care less if Newcastle win or lose.

Just that we get enough points to stay in the Premier League where big money is.

Please somebody out there – come and buy us – please.

Which On Loan Left Back Should Newcastle Pursue This Summer?

  • Jetro Willems (52%, 600 )
  • Both (28%, 318 )
  • Neither (12%, 137 )
  • Danny Rose (8%, 95 )

Charlie doesn’t have to wait till he’s crowned in a coronation ceremony. He’ll be king as soon as Lizzy dies, do could announce that his abdication anytime after that. Edward V111 was never crowned.

    carltoon yes you are right
You become monarch as soon as your predecessor croaks
So Charley boy doesn’t need to wait for a coronation to abdicate
He has said that he would like William to have some family life
    before taking on the Kingship.

Roberto Martinez, bit of a sly git, never liked him after that tackle on Haidara.

Given that the club seem to have gone for him before Steve Bruce, Im not sure we did worse by getting Bruce, although the A grade awarded to Bruce by Teamtalk was a tad OTT !

Its been good to have a solid defence the last few years through Rafa and Steve B – I always remember newcastle having a crap defence most of my life , or being an “easy touch” although “The Entertainers” were far better defensively than given credit for, largely because they had the ball so much!

The forces are lining up against Ashley
It may well become a Ratner moment.
If the demise of SD/FG were to follow it
doesn’t necessarily mean that a sale of
    NUFC would happen

You could be right The Wife. I guess money controls all, in terms of club ownership etc, but the greedy muppet messed up royally with that incredible PR gaffe.

Thankfully the govt is funding 70% of salaries up to a certain level over here, so at least a lot of businesses will surice , thank God. Not sure why the EU was being panned here by Tuff (?) and co yesterday – their funding for this is superb.

Jib, what would he have to advertise? Also if SD/FG were in effect liquidated and him thrown out, would he really want us around his neck? I don’t think so.

Modern day shoppers, particularly the younger element who are Ashley’s main customer group, tend not to take notice of ”Ratner” moments. They’re more interested in the brand and the price. I think the reason why Ratner’s empire collapsed was you don’t wanner be associated with cheap jewellery, it being a purely luxury item.
I’m sure the tat shops will thrive again once Coronavirus is sorted!
However, I doubt there’ll be many like Rio Ferdinand singing Ashley’s praises as he’s been exposed as an evil force.
