Martin Dibravka has been interviewed in the Chronicle today, and he is managing to survive during the coronavirus lockdown, with the help of his girlfriend Lucia and his dog Shay.
Both are upbeat during this period, so that’s helping Martin a lot.
They help Martin keep upbeat during these long days of uncertainty about the future.
And yes, Martin has named his dog after one of Newcastle’s best ever goalkeepers – Shay Given.

This is what Martin has told the Chronicle today:
“I am a lucky guy because my partner is very positive and my family and friends are too. They know we are alone here.”
“I am just trying to do my gym routine and trying to be in good shape when I come back.”
“We’re in a position where we are comfortable.
“We’re still not safe, but in a good position, so we need more points.
“I really hope we can finish the season because I miss football a lot.
“It’s important to stay home right now and we’ll see when the season starts again.”
Martin’s right, we are still not safe but we are a decent 8 points clear with 9 games to go – so we have a good chance of staying up.
Put it this way, it would be a shock now if we were relegated.
But we cannot forget – this is Newcastle.
