The Athletic have some news on the status of Steve Bruce, and what the new consortium’s thinking is on a new manager at Newcastle.
It doesn’t seem like they have been in a rush to appoint a new manager, and if the season continues then, Steve Bruce will continue in his role.
Amanda Staveley has made no contact with Bruce, and it seems they are holding off until the deal is announced, and they’ll have the summer to appoint a new manager if they so desire.
All the papers necessary for the takeover were into the Premier League on Thursday, April 9th, so that’s already 12 days – nearly two weeks.
It seems the new owners will wait and talk to Steve Bruce and also see who is available this summer, before making a decision on whether to bring in a new manager.
They “appreciate” the job that Steve Bruce has done because it allowed them to go forward and do the deal.
There was little chance of any relegation, so that last game – an excellent 1-0 win at Southampton – was significant.
We are in 13th place with a decent 35 points from 29 games.
[table “84” not found /]It seems they have made no decision on whether to keep Bruce and the article states there may be other managers who will become available this summer, or who may want the job at Newcastle.
It is undoubtedly an attractive job and will pay top money for those interested.
The decision on the manager will be made in the summer and before the start of next season.
Seems good to us,
Fans prefer former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Of the first meetings which have just taken place concerning the future coach of Newcastle, 4 names would be in the shortlist:
– Rafa Benitez
– Mauricio Pochettino
– Massimiliano Allegri
– Lucien Favre

Exactly, the whole fricking point of an nda is so no information comes out ( the only way we know of this in the first place is because legal forms were submitted)
Everything else is supposition, even the Prem havent confirmed that they are doing the fpp test….so people coming on here preaching about how long this has been going on and whos involved are only showing themselves as ignorant as the rest of us ( unless iv mised an announcement from the club, Stavely , The Rueben Bros or the Prince ……thought not

You obviously don’t understand the legal part of an NDA!
Ashley can still communicate with his customers without breaking the NDA.

I think, judging by the amount of time you spend on this blog, that you probably struggle with having a normal life. Never mind, you’ll soon be on yet another career path when your owner is gone!

Of course he can communicate with his customers
But not about the buisness he has with the other party in the nda
I think on the basis I have been involved in quite a few personally
I do fully understand
I will give you a clue

Comment #11Next Monday is my guess for an announcement.
That’ll be 2-3 weeks since we first heard about there being a deal agreed, at which point PL checks would have started.

PCP Capital Partners’ takeover of Newcastle United is nearing completion after the Saudi-backed consortium paid a deposit and exchange contracts with Mike Ashley.
