Eurosport journalist Manu Lonjon is beginning to get some credibility with his tweets, which are turning out to be reasonably accurate.
Today he is reporting there are four candidates for manager of the new Newcastle, which Amanda Staveley will presumably interview for the job at Newcastle United in the summer.
That’s once everything has calmed down from the coronavirus pandemic, which could be a few months yet.
Today, the Athletic reported the necessary papers have been into the Premier League since April 9th, and the dal is expected to be approved within the next week or so.
They also report that the consortium have made no contact with Steve Bruce, and they will decide on the new manager this summer.
It looks like Steve Bruce may not be part of the shortlist if managers.
62-year-old Lucien Favre – current Borussia Dortmund manager
This is the tweet from French Journalist Manu Lonjon:
Of the first meetings which have just taken place concerning the future coach of Newcastle, 4 names would be in the shortlist:
– Rafa Benitez
– Mauricio Pochettino
– Massimiliano Allegri
– Lucien Favre

We guessed at four managers who may be in contention in our poll below, but Lucien Favre seems to be in place of current manager Steve Bruce if Lonjon is accurate with his tweet.
The 62-year-old was born in Switzerland and currently manages Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.
