Newcastle Make Late Push For French Prodigy

French outlet Le10Sport is reporting that Newcastle are interested in signing 17-year-old PSG prodigy Tanguy Kouassi this summer.

The young center-back is out of contract this summer and has yet to sign the extension on offer from the Parisiens. Leeds were also linked with the youngster a few days ago.

However, L’Equipe claims that RB Leipzig are in the driver’s set to sign the talented defender. According to them, Leipzig believe they may have agreed on a deal to bring Kouassi in this summer when his contract expires.

It could be that the new ownership group have identified the youngster as a target recently and are making a late push to keep him from making a decision on his future just yet.

There was a report recently that the new owners are targeting some high-profile free agents like Edinson Cavani, Willian, and Dries Mertens, who will all be out of contract this summer.

While Kouassi is far from the finished product, he is a top French youth prospect. Despite being just 17, he’s already made 13 appearances for PSG this season.

He famously scored PSG’s 4000th goal in club history, which also happened to be his first for the club.

Kouassi has made 12 appearances at the French U18 level. He’ll turn 18 in June and would be an outstanding player to bring in to boost our Academy under the new ownership group.

Nashers re NHS funding – it’s been dreadful for years, I mean decades. I agree that Captain Tom shouldn’t have had to do what he did, but I’m glad he did.

I reckon it’s probably put years on him, that sense of pride.

What a hero he is, National Treasure.

totally agree, maybe he might open up the eyes of the country and how its run maybe we could all change for the best of our country but thats just wishful thinking our politicians are so far corrupt, I think after this virus has passed I do think this country should change for the better because when people start to think about whats happened and who helped the fingers are going to be pointed and blaming the governments of the world for this

Donny van de Beek linked with us if Pochettino gets the job as he wanted to sign him at Spurs!

That would be a supreme midfield signing if we were to get him just exactly what we need!

Get Dries Mertens and Ryan Fraser on frees after that and the squad would be significantly improved straight away!

i’ve been thinking about the F.A. doing their checks , i reckon they have done them but with all this going on in the news Bein ,A.I . . the FA have put it on hold for a few days , to make it look like they are seeing and doing if that makes sense , i reckon they have gave the go ahead for the takeover imo…

I hope, should this takeover go through, that Amanda Staveley immediately goes on the charm offensive to all media to answer in detail all of these hypocritical rantings by Amnesty, Bein Sports, Richard Keys, Ashley ‘mates’ like Simon Jordan and other ‘band-wagon hopping’ publications.
THEN I hope the new owners come in and blatantly blast all of the other clubs out of the water with top signings, extensive plans to improve the club and the city and show the footballing world they really mean business.
As someone, said if we have to, let’s adopt the Millwall chant – “Everybody hates us but we don’t care”.
But let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.
