It may be difficult initially for Newcastle to attract world-class players to Newcastle.
But once we have established ourselves as a top club in Europe under the new regime, things will become easier.
There’s an exclusive in the Football Insider today that Amanda Staveley is trying to sign up the 70 times capped Brazilian playmaker Willian.
Willian is a free agent this summer, and it’s sensible for Newcastle to try to sign these top players who are free agents this summer.
We would have no chance and found; afford it worth the old regime – Mike Ashley never liked to spend the club’s money on anything.
The biggest problem seems to be Newcastle’s location in the north-east – and to convince the player to leave London.
We have reported today that may be an initial problem for the club but as time goes on it will definitely become less of a problem,
The successful Newcastle sides managed by Kevin Keegan and Sir Bobby Robson didn’t seem to have too many problems in attracting top players to the club.
Maybe we should tell him Newcastle is only an hour from London?
🙂
The Football Insider is reporting the 45-year-old former Coventry City striker/winger says that Willian could want to stay close to London.
When asked if Willian (shown above) was the type of signing Newcastle could complete this summer, Whelan had this to say:
“Yeah, I do, I really do. Not only that but they’ll have the wages to fund the transfer as well, that’s the more important part.”
“The question is would Willian want to go north-bound? To me, I think he’ll be quite settled in the south and if a club comes in for him that’s in and around the London area, that would probably be his first choice.”
“This is the big problem for Newcastle.”
“They’re going to have to pay bigger wages to get these players in because some of these intercontinental players want to be near the capital. “
“That’s the biggest challenge they have, enticing these big-name stars to Newcastle.”
“Look, they’ve got the fan base, they’ve got the stadium, that’s never in doubt.”
“It’s the locality of the club, a lot of these players want to be in London where it’s a bit more cosmopolitan.”
“It’s not right because it’s a massive club, Newcastle, and they’ve got the potential to be unbelievably big and challengers later on in time.”
Willian has played 329 times for Chelsea and scored 59 goals with 59 assists.
He’s just the type of productive and classy player we need at Newcastle, under the new regime.
What do you think?

Comment #3During his last State Visit to the UK The Donald was sitting having a cup of tea with the Queen. He asked her, ” I was wondering Your Majesty if we could become a Kingdom? ” She replied, ” No sir, That would mean you would would have to be a King and you’re not a King.” ” How about a Princedom ?” he then asked. She replied , ” No sir , That would mean you would have to be a Prince and you’re not a Prince.” ” How about an Empire? ” he persisted. ” No sir that would mean you would have to be an Emperor and you’re not an Emperor.” she told him.
The Queen after taking a sip of tea noticed he was about to speak again so she said to him, ” Having studied your situation carefully Sir I have reached the conclusion that you will definitely have to remain a country!”

Comment #4The UK will hold on to a sliver of hope as long as it is there, but in reality the chances of completing the Premier League season are slim.
The English season will need a number of weeks to complete and I doubt there will be enough time. Seeing what is happening with things getting postponed week by week it is probably not realistic. (President of Dutch football association)

One lot suggests that there are two USA bids in waiting and in a flash we’re linked with Ian Ayre (previously CEO Liverpool ) as CEO because he’s over there with Nashville SC soccer team.
Might as well go for Boss Hogg and Smokey and the Bandit.
At least it keeps the Journo’s off the streets. Preferably 2metres away.

Comment #10Always liked Willian, found it strange that he seemed to struggle to get into Chelsea’s starting 11 at times.

Comment #11If the remaining games of the season are to be played behind closed doors matches then each round will have to be played on the same day at the same time so as to avoid players and teams not wrongly influencing results that affect the league positions which could happen as otherwise allowing another team to gain points when they need them could be an issue.
Will Sky protest at free to view games or will bein step in and protest ?
Will Clive Betts have his h’penny worth in protest at Sheffield United’s owners links ?
Will televised games be dubbed with chants from previous games ?
Will VAR be switched on ?
So many questions

We have a couple who take phone orders and deliver nearby, I was was checking out the other one and it had some of the shitiest reviews I’ve ever see, so we picked the right one.
Used to be one of the best in town but it’s been taken over by non English owners.
No problem with that side of it as another we used to use had Chinese owners and they were brilliant.

As I said yesterday, we will be missing our 12th man, whereas the opposition will still have theirs, so a good challenge for our lads.

Ah yes, I remember that, something that was played a long time ago, anyone have any nostalgic memories of this ancient game.
If I can vaguely recall it correctly two teams of 11 players per side used to try and kick a large spherical object into a net filled with onions, there’s was probably more to it than that I’ll try to remember more and and , now where was I?

Comment #27magpie6699 – I don’t know about that – I was quite dissapointed when they stopped drundin witches in Alnwick market place – it was bloody good entertainment.
They cited health and safety reasons – a bit of a contradiction in terms I think.
