On Loan Magpie Makes It Crystal Clear Where He Wants To Play Next Season

A Newcastle fan implored Jetro Willems to come back to Newcastle on Twitter this afternoon. Jetro responded by saying that the decision was not up to him but to the club.

Newcastle will hopefully be under new ownership soon. They’ll have their own vision for the club and the playing squad.

Whether Willems will be under consideration after his severe knee injury is unclear.

However, Jetro would be welcomed back with open arms by the fan base. He showed in his 20 appearances before his injury that he is well suited to the English game.

In fact, at times he was one of the better left wing-backs in the Premier League. Another positive in bringing Jetro back is that he won’t cost too much money, so could be very low risk.

We’ll also know that he wants to join for the right reasons. That’s his love of the club and it’s fans.

Another fan followed up Jetro’s comment to ask what he wanted. Jetro’s response just further solidifies our hope that he returns next season.

If his knee is ok then its a no-brainer. thats a big if though, 3 knee injuries by 25yr old, generally things get worse as you approach 30 rather than better.

Id go with another loan with an option to buy again and see how his knee holds up, not even sure when he will be match fit by though.

dont want another injury prone player on a long contract and we end up paying someone to sit on the sidelines, had too many of those in the past, even though he seems a good guy and really wants to play for us, even before this takeover.

If we get new owners, and therefore a new manager, I can’t see us getting him, especially with his injury.

If he likes it here after all the things that went down and the morgue like atmosphere in a desolate stadium, can you imagine what he’ll feel like with the place rammed, noisy and wor flags putting on a display.

He’s one of the best attacking fullbacks we’ve had – fully fit he would be our best option for the next season or 2.

Our last home fixture was a goal-less draw vs Burnley
The atmosphere wasn’t the best however there were
    52,219 in attendance .
Desolate is not really the word

The Reuben Bros PR people’s statement suggests that they are part of the PCP fronted consortium along with PIF and PCP.

The way it’s minimally worded suggests that they want to make it clear that apart from that financial relationship, they have no other relationships with Saudi Arabia. Perhaps they’re worried about their business being affected by any closer connections?

    Just a thought.

    Jibbers,
Was that another 0-0 draw when the atmosphere was electric, for best part of the season the stadium had an air of desolation.

i have my doubts on authenticity of that statement,
the format, the wording just looks so unprofessional to have come from one of the top PR companies in the word,, even the date of its publication is being questioned, the whole thing just looks so amateurish, and not what would be expected from a company of that standing, plus why CNN ???

The Reuben Brothers statement is supposedly fake. Im sure if the Reuben,s were that concerned about the PIF,s reputation, they would of had nothing to do with the consortium in the first place

Another good reason that the government will not step in on the take over.

They will be in so much debt that to block the crown prince of SA (one of the richest countries in the world) would be sheer madness.

Having looked at again, yes, the published statement does look a bit naff.

In any event can’t imagine the Reubens issuing such a statement when NDAs are in place.

However, if it us genuine, I would speculate that they may not want to jeopardise any business relationships they have in the Emirates – hence the CNN connection. In saying that, they may run the risk of upsetting the Saudis.

All in all, I agree with you and others who’ve questioned that supposed statement.

Official attendances are calculated using ticket sales, including season tickets. The number attending, in my opinion should be those going through the turnstiles. All clubs seem to do this but I think that this is dishonest.

Following the successful rescue of the twelve footballer’s and their coach from the cave in Thailand the families of the boys would like to thank all the rescuers, volunteers , police, fire service and all the ambulance and hospital staff.

A special thanks also goes out to Paul Gascoigne who turned up with four cans of lager, a fishing rod and a cooked chicken.

There may be news of 2nd bid for #nufc breaking later. Deal verbally agreed and so on. Which makes very little sense as contracts signed for l Saudi led one and it’s already gone to PL to be signed off. I’m very confused. I would ignore it when it does but will chase up 2mrw
