Newcastle Unlikely To Pay €50M For 26-Year-Old Attacking Midfielder

Real Betis are reported to want €50M for their 26-year-old attacking French midfielder Nabil Fekir this summer.

That’s according to Spanish daily AS.

But whether they will be able to get that is questionable given there will only a few Premier League clubs who have money to spend this summer.

If we get the OK from the PL on the takeover, then Newcastle will be one of those few clubs, and it’s a buyers’ market this summer.

Another two big clubs, Arsenal and AC Milan are also linked with this player.

Fekir left French club Lyon after eight years there and joined Real Betis last summer on a four-year contract, for an initial fee of €19.75M and €10M in add-ons.

That would be close to €30M in total, so they want a €20M profit in just one year on the player (shown above) – they will not get that in these difficult financial times.

He has done very well in Spain this season and has played 23 times for Betis this season with 7 goals and 6 assists.

Fekir is said to be in no rush to leave Betis unless a massive club like Barcelona or Real Madrid (or Newcastle United?) come after him.

But no club will be paying out €50M for him this summer, not even the new Newcastle under new CEO Ms. Amanda Staveley.

What do you think?

I certainly dont agree that you should continue to watch your team if you feel it is being run for a purpose other than competing to win trophies.
I stopped giving the slug my hard earned cash when I twigged what he was doing 10 years gone.
It was my protest against the Slug and his deliberate asset stripping of our club.
SD was his baby and he used our fine name to promote his Tat shops.
I was gutted to stop attending but i still loved my club with a passion as great as anyone else.
If we close a game i am down, but if we win whoopee,I am happy as a pig in shite.
I believe if more and more fans had done the same the Slug would have shipped out before now,but that’s my opinion.
Some folk will not agree but that’s up to them.
Please make this takeover happen reregardless of the Saudi,s past history.
We still welcome them to meet our royals and do mega trade with them, but thats the world we live.

German football authorities say 10 individuals from the country’s top two divisions have returned positive coronavirus tests.

A total of 1,724 tests were carried out on players from 36 clubs in the top two tiers of German football.

Sorry if this has been kicked around before, and feel free to beat the bejeebers out of the suggestion, but what if, the season was just stopped now officially, (or paused if you like), then when the air is clear, started again with all teams in the same position and on the same points as they are now. as if it was one great long season with a few months break in the middle.
No teams relegated, none being disadvantaged and everything still to fight for. Call it the 19/21 season.
Makes sense to me, but then again I’m no great analyst.

Moanster – can you not just make on you’ve never heard of Rafa Benitez.

How’s Charlie the chihuahua – has he crapped on the carpet yet.

Stan your right everyone has to do what they believe. He was only going to go when someone paid him the money, that’s my belief. It’s not fair for people to call match going fans, anyway I’m not getting into this argument, we might be on the verge of becoming something to be proud of. Let’s hope we can all go and see our team play.

BSIB at 78, incorrect when you say all protesters wanted NUFC to be in the relegation places.

I can only speak for myself, but due to Rafa rondon and Perez leaving and continued lack of investment in the squad (as nobody had a crystal ball to predict st max being a good or rubbish signing), plus dubs clearly being a mile ahead of anybody as player of the season. That NUFC would have been in the relegation zone rather than wanting or wishing for it to happen.

TBH I dont mind if I never get a season ticket again (as I gave up mine 5 years ago and am therefore a fake fan), as long as I get our club back first and foremost and I can always listen or watch the match and enjoy it again

If we are unable to get an A-list manager, rather than Favre, Villa Boas or any defensive Italian manager, Id rather draw up a shortlist of managers from premier league and bundesliga.
Howe, Potter, Farke, Frank, Wilder, Hassenhutl, Biesla, Nagelsmann. Id expect all to do well.

Well as going to the match. No one should be taking the moral high ground. Let’s all get behind the team. Think if we do get rich owners we may get a massive stadium then everyone’s happy. We can but dream

I’d rather not have a defensive manager. They are going out with the Arc.

Farke would produce some football if he got a defensive coach in with him
