Newcastle have already been linked with two Barcelona players currently out on loan. Coutinho, on loan with Bayern Munich, has been touted as a possible big-money addition this summer while Emerson, who is on loan with Real Betis, would be a more economical signing at around £18m.
Spanish outlet Marca have added Barcelona midfielder Carles Alena to Newcastle’s transfer list. Like Emerson, Alena is on loan at Real Betis.
This is what Marca writes in their report:
Newcastle United want to sign Barcelona duo Philippe Coutinho and Carles Alena, who have been on loan at Bayern Munich and Real Betis respectively this season.
They don’t provide much information other than that Newcastle ‘want’ both Coutinho and Alena.
Carles Alena– Newcastle reportedly after young midfielder
Alena is a product of the Barcelona Academy and has represented Spain at the U21 level. The 22-year-old made his debut for the Barcelona first-team in the Copa del Rey in November of 2016 were he also bagged his first goal.
He made his La Liga debut later that season in April against Granada. However, he has found first-team football hard to come by at the mighty Camp Nou.
Having made only 39 appearances since his debut over three years ago, Barcelona sent the midfielder to Real Betis this past January for a six-month loan spell. Alena made 12 appearances, including 6 starts for the Betis before La Liga was suspended in mid-March.
The promising midfielder can also play on either wing and has outstanding potential. His contract runs until 2022 and includes a £66m release clause.
Barcelona Analysis did a profile of Alena last summer.
This would be quite a signing if Newcastle could pull it off. Alena is magical with the ball at his feet and has a bright future ahead of him.

Comment #2They were saying on Talk sport there’s an idea about playing the rest of the season in Perth Australia
Sport down there is planned to restart soon
All you would need to do is quarantine everyone for 2 weeks
Fans are going to be allowed into the grounds etc

Australia still aren’t allowing international flights
Australia will not want to chance another influx of risk
Australia pitches are not up to standard
It’s the worst idea in the world

Comment #6But Australia is clear of the virus
And they have made the offer
They also have the facilities
Safest place to do this possible
I’d say if we are going to play these games Australia is perfect

Comment #7More of these rumors of who we are after… who is even in the building to be in for anyone? If we are about to be sold there would be little work being done here and if we aren’t being sold then fatty will leave everything to the last minute as usual.

Comment #12tbf I liked some of the ideas Froggy was chucking about earlier and he is only commenting on what has been said. I just can’t see the players getting on board with this in the first place.

Not sure about letting fans in, haven’t read that myself ?

W.A. Premier Mark McGowan is open to the idea of hosting the games, however the mandatory fortnight isolation is still a requirement,
Perth has 4 suitable arena , the pick of the bunch is Optus Stadium with a capacity of 60000, recently both Man U and Leeds played at Optus along with Perth’s own Perth Glory.
International Flights are still occurring, admitadley for repatriation purposes.
