Rafa Benitez Favorite Lined Up By New Regime For Summer Transfer

There’s a report today in Sports Witness that Newcastle are in the lead to sign Napoli’s 28-year-old center-back Kalidou Koulibaly.

The Senegal center-back was signed by Rafa Benitez when he was Napoli manager back in 2014, and the Senegal International has turned out to be an excellent player for the Italian club.

Newcastle are reported to be offering more money for the player than both Liverpool and Manchester United – and we all know – football is all (only?) about money these days.

In fact, the transfer fee and wages being offered by Newcastle’s new regime is the best offer he has received.

Napoli’s 28-year-old center-back Kalidou Koulibaly

That is what Area Di Rigore journalist, Paolo Esposito, has said to Sports Witness:

“Juventus do not have the economic strength to buy the Neapolitan Kalidou Koulibaly.”

“I believe he, will go to the Premier League, where there is Newcastle in pole position.”

“Then there are Manchester United and Liverpool, who have much more charm than Newcastle but offer less, both for the card and for the engagement.”

“Of course, if Koulibaly went to Liverpool, he would form a stratospheric couple with Virgil van Dijk!”

“The best defensive couple in the world!”

If the takeover of Newcastle by Amanda Staveley’s consortium finally gets the OK from the Premier League, we should be in an excellent position this summer.

Money is short in football because of the coronavirus pandemic and transfer fees will (should) be lower because of that,

If Rafa Benitez was going to come back as the manager at Newcastle this summer, he would undoubtedly want a player like this, after signing Koulibaly, when he was just 22, from Belgian club Genk six years ago.

What do you think?

If liverpool wanted him I really cant see him choosing us for any amount of money even double what Pool would offer.

It’s too much of a draw to turn down a team like liverpool and to be potentially playing alongside VVD. Pool are the kind of team who only need 2 well chosen players to dominate everything for the next 5 years. How could he turn them down. I really dont think it’s even a starter that hed come here tbh. Hope I’m wrong.

Imagine if they had deal done a week or two ago but decided to keep it under wraps so they could go poach players without competition, or to agree to buy players when the window opens up.

They cant have anyone to compete with if other clubs dont know they are buying players.
