Report – More Names Linked With NUFC Director Role

The Independent is claiming that Owen Brown is confident of landing the director of football role at Newcastle United.

According to the report, the former Rafa Benitez advisor would team up with Frank McParland, who has served as the sporting director at Brentford, Burnley, and most recently Nottingham Forest.

Earlier today, Get French Football News claimed that Lille’s director of football Luis Campos turned down an approach from Newcastle United. The Independent echos that claim while adding that Domenico Teti was also approached.

Owen Brown (pictured above with Rafa) spent time as a scout and advisor under Rafa Benitez at Liverpool.

However, we can’t see him being handed the director of football role at Newcastle under our new ownership group. Though he could be in line for another position at the club.

We would expect our new owners to bring in a top director to take this club forward. Someone like Lille’s Luis Campos would be an outstanding hire if he could be persuaded to join.

Earlier this month, former Newcastle defender Nikos Dabizas was again touted as a candidate to become Newcastle’s next director of football.

The dentist knows as much as Steve Wraith and he doesn’t know much. He’s already had our teeth out last year and now wants our pants down. Why do these people need to feel so important?

Jail, I know the dentist personally, and I can say he’s not someone with a huge ego who wants to feel important at all, like a lot of people, he shares things that he knows, or believes, are true.

Have you listened to the podcast (on youtube too), with him and Steve Wraith?

I know it’s a different context but it’s a pity this historic occasion won’t be as awesome as the unveiling of Shearer!

After all We’ve waited thirteen years.

Thankfully there would appear to be a realistic understanding that progress won’t be instantaneous!

However, talk of a five year incubation period seems rather cautious.

I know the stadium needs a lot of TLC, all the Sports Direct derititus needs to be fumigated, and a total rebuild of the training centre is fundamental.

All this shouldn’t take five years, even if a extra large ‘Trophy Room’ is commissioned!

    Time to dream. Perhaps…

All talk of Covid-19 ceases on Tyneside as the longest suffering fans in football turn their attention to the new candemic sweeping across the region.

Any copywriters out there can have that for free when the time comes.

    It’s gonna be a can-ny weekend!

    That one stays mine!

    😉

Whether its Poch, Rafa, or Allegri steering the ship its almost time to start dreaming again peeps!

    DMicky,
It doesn’t surprise me at all that you know him personally, him and the DJ, it doesn’t alter the fact that he is posting things like 24/48 hrs like he’s in the know, as I said he knows as much as Steve Wraith who walks round Newcastle every morning showing pictures of the Tyne bridge with lost of smiley faces, these people are revelling in the attention they are getting without ever delivering anything of note.

I feel sorry for Bladey, it must be awful supporting a once great club now languishing in the third level of English football. In addition to that, being owned by what appears to be asset strippers, not that there are many assets to strip out these days. So sorry Bladey, but you may be lucky enough to get the parasite as owner; enjoy.
