Dubious Report – Newcastle Turned Down By Former Tottenham Manager

French publication L’Equipe are reporting today that Newcastle have failed in their attempt to sign current Marseille manager Andre Villa-Boas.

42-year-old Villa-Boas had a difficult time of it in England managing Chelsea and then Tottenham, so it’s a bit of a surprise Newcastle are reported to be after him.

He does have the Marseille team second top of Ligue 1 at the moment with 56 points from 28 games, and they are 12 points behind PSG.

Marseilles sacked their Sporting Director Andoni Zubizarreta last week, and the French report is the Portuguese manager has turned down a sizable offer from Newcastle to lead our revival under new owners.

But as we have said, he does not have a favorable record in England, and we’re not sure he would be a popular choice with our fans.

Villa-Boas (shown above) has one year left on his deal in France and is refusing to resign, but wants to see out his contract with the famous French club.

From various reports over the last several weeks, former Tottenham and Southampton boss Mauridico Pochettino seems to be the favorite for the Newcastle job.

And at least he has done well in the Premier League since he signed for Southampton from Espanyol in January 2013.

We put out an article today wondering if Rafa Benitez could make a surprise comeback on Tyneside, and that’s still a possibility.

However, we would be surprised if there’s much truth in this article on Villa-Boas.

The new regime have said they will take their time appointing a new manager, and Newcastle still have to complete the season under current manager Steve Bruce.

We have 9 league games to play and face Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

Bruce would like to continue as the manager for next season, but there’s little chance of that happening.

12Everton28-537
13Newcastle29-1635
14Southampton29-1734
15Brighton29-829
16West Ham29-1527

Maybe if Bruce wins six of the remaining nine league games and wins the FA Cup?

It would then be difficult for Amanda Staveley not to give Bruce a chance to lead his home town club’s revival.

What do you think?

Ive had enough of this takeover saga now. This is so obviously an elaborate hoax designed by Ashlie and his cohorts to sell season tickets , it’s clear for all to see, and if people are wondering why so many others are complicit in all of this nonsense the answer is backhanders.

We have all seen the price of oil tumble due to the virus as the global economy slumps and it has been highlighted everywhere that the Saudis cash flow has dried up. Mikey being the money grabbing opportunist that he is has coaxed The Saudis , Amanda Staveley, Members of the press and even Steve Bruce to play along with his little scam and touch for a nice few quid to help during these difficult times,
Who suffers yet again? The poor Geordie faithful desperately clamouring to buy season tickets in a blind frenzy genuinely believing in yet another takeover.

Utter bollocks, take a bow ffs.

I have an old “Northern Rock” top the one with the stitched on letters. sadly the letters started coming adrift (had them sewn back on) but eventually they broke up and they all had to be removed. But that’s my top there’s no way I was buying another one whilst a certain person, guess who, was involved with our club.

I look forward to seeing/buying the new kit when it is available. 🙂

Also this picture changes my mind on that medivac plane.

If it was carrying ppe why is there suitcases being unloaded from it, and why is there a blacked out people carrier parked up beside it?

Is it still there Rob? Anyone know? I doubt a medivac plane would hang around if it was just dropping off.

No Hal it’s long gone, it flew off less than 30 mins after it landed back to Riyadh. Surely you cant unload a plane that fast either.

You’d think it would take longer if it was a patient, or med supplies. Plus I thought med supplies still go through customs? Am I wrong?

I was following it this morning, people were saying it went back to London but it didnt it kept going, last I seen it was over France looking like it was heading straight back to Riyadh.

Why would a plane from Riyadh be delivering ppe to Newcastle and nowhere else?

Why would it be parked up for such a short time and then on it’s way straight back to Riyadh.

Youd imagine if it had cargo it would take far longer than under 30 mins to unload it.

I think that picture I linked is significant tbh. Why is there suitcases being unloaded from a medivac plane and why is there a blacked out transporter waiting beside the plane.

This one to be fair is VERY unlikely to all be coincidence.

The plane which landed earlier is currently flying South East over Southern Italy on its way back to Riyadh (presumably)

The flight path to get here this morning looked more like a pick up flight path. Staveley last from Stansted?

    Re the Puma Adidas debate.
both companies owned by feuding brothers.

Argued and split and one set up Puma.. on other side of the river in a German town..

Still a seperation n in the town of Herzogenaurach today.. as they really hated each other.

Adidas was Adolf and Rudi dassler.. hence Adidas.

Jesse Owens wore Adidas first at the Berlin Olympics in 1936.

Both were member of the N party. fell out on 1943..over an allied bombing miscommunication.. and split the companies into 1948.

Now buried as far as possibly apart in same cemetery.

    It’s interesting.

But god yeah Adidas were and are so much better.

Haven’t a clue Hal, maybe just refuelling. But youd imagine it wouldn’t need to stop at London to just refuel, it would certainly have enough fuel to do the full stretch, flight path from Riyadh to New is 5150km gulfstream gv range is 10800km, so it certainly wouldnt be refueling at London if it’s going to on to Newcastle. So youd imagine they stopped at London for other reasons it was probably a pick up in London.
